🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. has a plan that would effectively bankrupt Iran overnight. They keep choosing not to use it.

Kharg Island is where ~90% of Iran's oil exports flow through. Capture it or destroy its infrastructure, and Iran's war funding collapses. No money, no missiles, no war.

Plans have been drawn up for months. They keep getting shelved.

The reason: taking the island requires significant ground troops and would likely mean heavy American casualties. Every time it reaches the table, the human cost pushes it back off.

What's notable is what the U.S. has already done. Multiple major air strikes on Kharg, but the energy infrastructure has been deliberately left untouched each time.

The island is essentially a loaded gun sitting on the table. Washington knows exactly what it does. Iran knows Washington knows.

The fact that it stays holstered is the only leverage either side needs right now.
