Anyone who was at Accelerate have the details on what is new with Amazon Marketing Cloud?
Seems like the reveal is better targeting capabilities but I was hoping for a more business under query system.
I keep going back and forth on DSP being a driver for Amazon. I see some compelling correlation but it’s unlikely causal.
Anyone using Amazon Marketing cloud to verify the purchase path?
That is probably true if purchase is the only goal, but a full funnel campaign requires different metrics
- Awareness (CPMr, cost/page view)
- Consideration (engagement, traffic quality, bounce rate, etc.)
- Conversion: new customers, CaC
A single ad does not a campaign make.
The team only had conversion-focused creative. Strong CTA’s and promo call outs, but lacked any education info about the need states the product address.
I asked why creative was so limited and the answer was ‘promo drives sales, ‘content’ doesn’t work’
The amount of brands and companies that try to make one ad for all consumer segments crazy.
Had a conversation today with a marketing team that said ‘we have a full funnel approach’ to launching new products but the media plan said something different.
Virtual multi packs are a major unlock for low AOV cpg items on Amazon
- save on the cost of shrink wrapping items
- better per transaction economics
- low risk way to test/learn
- better coverage in search results

@Cernovich I would be careful in the space, many entrants into outdoor during and post covid, retailers (DSG, etc) are seeing headwinds and in a concentrated market so it’s secular not a one off.
