@AustinKonenski Joe Nemechek 2007. Consecutive weeks. Lost his Ginn ride, DNQ’d Indy, no ride for next two races, then 3 straight 43rd place finishes. Fucking brutal man. Been a Joe fan forever. Will never forget that stretch.
@FakeSamanthaLee If you were there you’d get it. If you weren’t and you didn’t experience it, you’re cooked. You’ll never get it. Nostalgia is not just a fantasy like so many think it is.
@Jwilliams8825@jeff_gluck At the stroke of a pen, they could amend the rule to include fuel savings on plate tracks. Or something to that effect, however they would word it. Not unprecedented for NASCAR to change rules willy nilly.
@CollinBCook We had it so good man. Perfect racing and perfect commentary. Goosebumps listening to how awesome this is. If you weren’t there to experience it live, I feel sorry for you. This was absolute peak.
@SpotterBrett A piece I think a lot of people overlook is the mystique of the underdog and the “go or go home” guys we used to have. Every week that was a storyline in itself. Race for top 35. Who had a sponsor and which popular veteran got the call to drive whichever car.
@psychedalex68 People’s attention spans were capable of comprehending a storyline greater than 10 laps without a wreck or a stupid impatient move. People today are instantaneously bored if nothing happens in no longer periods than 10 minutes. It’s pretty pathetic, actually.
