Wombat sculpture. I’ve learnt a lot about wombats over the last few days and the most surprising thing to me are their similarities to koalas with their quirky gait and fascinating toes! Stay tuned to see it glazed and finished. https://t.co/voL07Hx1KS #wombat

Populus, Denver, Colorado. A hotel inspired by aspen trees.
Designed by Studio Gang @studiogang , Populus in Denver turns the natural “eyes” of quaking aspen bark into a sculptural façade of deep, organic windows. Opened in 2024, the 265-room tower is presented as the first carbon-positive hotel in the U.S. — pairing a nature-driven architectural language with an ambitious environmental agenda.
Here’s the very start of a #wombat, something I’ve never sculpted before. I’ve done a fair bit of research on this unusual marsupial; its skeleton, how it moves and what its character is like, in order to capture this tenacious critter! Stay tuned! https://t.co/voL07Hx1KS
