Hello, my new followers. Since that random post went viral (well, viral *for me*), I figured I’d introduce myself and give you a chance to unfollow.

I’m ordained American Baptist.

I’m Wesleyan in most things sans baptism and ecclesiology.

I’m evangelical, egalitarian, and hold to a traditional sexual ethic.

I’m basically a New Testament theologian.

Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox are fellow Christians, and I love talking with serious folks in those sides of the Christian family.

My first two degrees were film degrees, so you may get the occasional movie take.

I’m married to Allison and we’re mom and dad to a five year old and a soon-to-be-born little one.

I pastor in the Greater Los Angeles area.

I homebrew.

My PhD (ABD) is on the New Testament and Universal Salvation (no, not a universalist).

I have too much grey in my beard.

I’m also buds with @thechurchsplit and @DPGBehler and @jdpritchett so you can tell my sense of humor is broken.

In 1 Corinthians 14, numerous prophets spoke and/or sang the Word of God in the congregation, all judging and all being judged for their proclamations. There is no evidence whatsoever that all these preachers were pastors. Indeed, Paul had to silence several, both men and women.

Ive done a few debates with prots recently who were quite frankly terrible at debate. I don't believe though there aren't good prot apologists out there because there are. I also dont have any hate for protestants or id have to hate my entire family. Discourse lately is shit.
