Excited to share my article published part of a special issue about the 'stuff' of African cities. My own contribution deals with the material and temporal properties of (fake) foods in Nakuru, Kenya. Check out the other articles as well! @AfricaIai

@FlyingBrussels Disappointed with Brussels Airlines customer care. I made a booking error and simply asked for a voucher to rebook - no refund. Cold response, no flexibility. As a frequent flyer to Nairobi, I’m seriously rethinking my loyalty. Mistakes happen, why not support us?
@Wise Repeatedly contacted customer service about missing transfers to M-Pesa in Kenya. Funds were supposedly refunded and resent, yet nothing arrived. A refund should have been offered. Disappointed in this poor service as a loyal, high-volume customer.
Delighted this is out with @punctum_books ! A decade in the making and especially a #lockdown labour of love co-writing sections with @joost_fontein @TessaDiphoorn @pete_pete_pete Too many other contributors to name individually but hongera!
Busy day today both online and offline... I started off with a presentation about my ongoing book project at a panel on 'just urban thermal geographies'. Then had several stakeholder meetings for the RESPIRA applications I am working on. We discussed the recently submitted
These remarks underscore the significance of my morning presentation and the funding applications we are working on. It was nice to combine fundamental research with applied approaches today. Time for mum's chai na maziwa
@TanjaDHendriks@kevindonovan Hi Tanja, Hi Kevin, via colleague at Egerton University (Applied Community Dev. Studies), there might be a former MA-student that fits the description. Get in touch with @edwinondiege . Good luck!
End of April I organised a stakeholder meeting on air pollution and CRDs at Egerton Uni’s campus in Nakuru. More than 40 experts came together to discuss tangible input for funding proposals, a Nakuru declaration with a mission statement and lots of ideas for future collabs!
'What happens when we sit in circles?' (HT Peter Block's book Community: the structure of belonging). Contributions in this session from Dr Milcah Mutuku, prof Patrick Develtere and Edwin Ondiege Otieno. Another day at #RespiraOpenFacultyConference
Currently coordinating a consortium pursuing action-research on the topic of air pollution and CRDs on the African continent. We have stakeholders from all over the continent and I’m currently developing 2 European funding applications and 1 VLIR application. Busy summer…
Waaw! Great article and lots of similarities with my own fieldwork in Nakuru, Kenya where bodies also 'overheat' due to the perils, stress and anxieties of urban change. See for instance https://t.co/ARs8gi8mHn
@JamesWakibia , good friend and great environmental activist from Nakuru, Kenya wrote an article about plastic pollution. Sharing is caring!

Importantly, engaging communities affected by issues such as pollution from dumping sites is crucial in finding effective solutions. I'm pleased to see that #RespiraOpenFacultyConference has included @nacowapia in discussions to tackle air pollution to reduce respiratory diseases
