EXCLUSIVE: We Called Out the Pentagon for Undercounting U.S. Casualties in Iran. They Keep Doing It.
After we exposed what one source called a “casualty cover-up,” the Pentagon offered another lowball count.

More measles cases have been reported in the United States in the last two years than in all the years from 2000 through 2024 combined. https://t.co/GR6Ai4dHp2
Hegseth's quest to fully transition the Defense Department to what he calls “The High-T Department of War” is just the latest manifestation of nagging anxieties about himself and the wheel-spinning, never-winning military he leads.

NEW: An untold number — dozens, at least — of green card applicants were sent on an emotional roller coaster over the past 24 hours thanks to an apparent glitch on the USCIS website
“It’s just devastating," one applicant told me.

Following months of reporting by The Intercept that found the Pentagon’s official tally of dead and wounded personnel is a gross undercount, which one U.S. government official previously called a “casualty cover-up", the Pentagon belatedly admitted that almost 100 U.S. troops have been injured in the last two weeks as Iran has hit U.S. targets across the Middle East.
NEW @theintercept: Nancy Pelosi's pick to replace her in Congress, Connie Chan, a progressive SF local lawmaker, has now gained the endorsement of @TrackAIPAC, vowing to back a total arms embargo on Israel and "to stop their government’s genocidal actions against the Palestinian people."
Chan, who also has the backing of Dem establishment figures like Sen. Adam Schiff, is trying to differentiate herself from her opponent, the YIMBY state Sen. Scott Wiener, who has significantly evolved on Israel and Palestine since launching his campaign, but is still continually pressed by his constituents on his record:
a. opposed Gaza ceasefire resolutions in '23, '24,
b. backed a state law in '24 that censors pro-Palestine speech in schools
c. opposes the BDS movement
d. calls for halting offensive weapons to Israel, but supports U.S. funding for Israel's missile defense systems, Iron Dome and David's Sling, which shields Israel from retaliation for its strikes.

“Whatever else MAGA says about wars,” says @attackerman, “what it wants is domination. It wants domination not only at home, but abroad. That’s where Graham recognized — that instead of being someone like John McCain, who sought to occasionally butt against, fight against Donald Trump — that Graham could help maneuver Trump into being a vehicle for their shared project. And he did that with really tremendous success.” Listen to the full episode here: https://t.co/aks1qcgUNg
In a purple congressional district in Michigan, William Lawrence, a co-founder of the progressive Sunrise Movement, is calling for a moratorium on new data centers and labeling Israel’s war in Gaza a genocide.
Rep. Thomas Massie had tried to strip the provision from the $1.15 trillion Pentagon budget, calling it “lopsided” in Israel’s favor. https://t.co/1LVleeU0HU
EXCLUSIVE: Hegseth’s War Department Slashed Civilian Protection Staff, Brought in AI Assessments

The Trump admin issued subpoenas seeking phone records of not just journalists but also their relatives.
It’s disgraceful. Even the Mafia considers family members off limits.
The court should quash the subpoenas and consider sanctions on the DOJ.
