Following months of reporting by The Intercept that found the Pentagon’s official tally of dead and wounded personnel is a gross undercount, which one U.S. government official previously called a “casualty cover-up", the Pentagon belatedly admitted that almost 100 U.S. troops have been injured in the last two weeks as Iran has hit U.S. targets across the Middle East.

NEW @theintercept: Nancy Pelosi's pick to replace her in Congress, Connie Chan, a progressive SF local lawmaker, has now gained the endorsement of @TrackAIPAC, vowing to back a total arms embargo on Israel and "to stop their government’s genocidal actions against the Palestinian people."

Chan, who also has the backing of Dem establishment figures like Sen. Adam Schiff, is trying to differentiate herself from her opponent, the YIMBY state Sen. Scott Wiener, who has significantly evolved on Israel and Palestine since launching his campaign, but is still continually pressed by his constituents on his record:

a. opposed Gaza ceasefire resolutions in '23, '24,
b. backed a state law in '24 that censors pro-Palestine speech in schools
c. opposes the BDS movement
d. calls for halting offensive weapons to Israel, but supports U.S. funding for Israel's missile defense systems, Iron Dome and David's Sling, which shields Israel from retaliation for its strikes.
