When “Mr. 67” is from your school and the 67th day of school lands on Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. You celebrate with a pep rally and 6-7 gear to pass out to the students. Special Thank you to Taylen for making a quick motivational video for our students!
We had a great time serving our staff and students today!! It was another great way to interact and celebrate with our school. We got to see so many people smiling today!!
I had great road trip this weekend with my main man. We got to tour Allen Fieldhouse, watch the Jayhawks defeat WVU, eat at Stanley James, and I received a scholarship for my Ed.D. Program. #RockChalk#FatherSonBonding
When attendance is at its highest in 12 years and discipline referrals are way down and you see an increase in student achievement on test data…of course you reward the students with ice cream sandwiches. #marigoldeffect#buildingculture
Over 60 handwritten thank you/encouragement notes written to all staff members that are waiting on their desks as they come in tomorrow. Now just waiting for the kids to walk through the doors tomorrow. #marigoldeffect@cultofpedagogy
Our teachers are huddled around lunch tables, prepping for tonight’s open.
When parents walk into those classrooms, they’ll meet teachers who feel more prepared and confident because of these lunch conversations.
Sometimes the best PD happens over good food #marigoldeffect
Home visit day in our district! Teachers/Staff preparing to go out into the community to meet and greet our students and begin building relationships for the upcoming school year.
Your habits run your life. They decide whether you succeed or fail.
Yet, most people spend time dreaming about their future, completely ignoring the small, everyday decisions shaping it.
Here’s how to build habits that work for you, not against you:
Start small!
- Instead of "I’ll exercise an hour every day," start with 5 minutes. Build consistency first.
Create triggers!
- Link your new habit to an existing one. For example, “After my morning coffee, I’ll write for 10 minutes.”
Measure progress!
- Track how many times you stick to your habit. It builds momentum.
Success isn’t about big leaps.
It’s about small steps taken every single day.
@neiltyson I see that you are coming to Cincinnati in May to give your lecture. Would you be interested in talking to a group of amazing high school kids while you are in town?
