So I've been trying to work out how to ensure we don't open up an asymmetrical disadvantage in military imagination. It's an incomplete thought at this stage so would love your ideas to round out my thinking. #imagination#doctrine#thinking
@silentrunner71 Hey Pete, the solution as I see it is use the principle based stuff that's good and provide clear rationale for why you're disregarding the prescriptive stuff and then show your approach works in a safe to fail environment to ease any command concern.
@maz_jovanovich We spent a whole day looking at the weapon of a human that was Nancy Wake @acsc_j a couple of weeks ago. Incredible human, and such a bad ass!

That's why most soldiers who have seen war never want to see it again.
And why some professional soldiers do all they can to prevent wars in the future, with an understanding of what is at stake.
And why Putin's illegal & criminal war in Ukraine is such an abomination. 25/25

So I recently wrote a #TinyLeadershipTale for @GroundCuriosity but the trigger to my leadership realisation came from none other than #DrWho. People laugh when I tell them a two hearted, time travelling, alien that cruises the galaxy in a police box is a mentor but...
@MT_ONeill 2/2 this type of thinking has been more 'tolerated' and then vindicated at the next major conflict. US Navy between WW1 and 2 and Patton and his tanks as a couple of examples. But we seem to have short memories on the importance or imagination and creativity to provide agility.

@MT_ONeill Those are really interesting points. What's the fix there then, if the endstate is imagination for success, but the imaginative are 'deviants' how do we instill the change long term. Interwar periods (like the one we're in now) have traditionally been the period where a lot 1/2
@ChesterfieldO5 @Mick_Cook Haha, excellent point! This is what I mean, we can't help ourselves. The indoctrination is so strong and if the doctrine that's indoctrinating is anti-creative we're up a stinky creek.
@ShamsaLea 100% there is a real requirement to find a way to reform the 'bits broken on scan so it's real' approach across health. So much evidence now that this approach makes people worse. We're all more than a single part and to think lived experience can be reduced as such is folly.
It's been a looooong time since I've posted anything physio related, but even in health management now I am bamboozled by how bad the majority of clinicians are at managing pain in relatively fit, young individuals. This may help. #painiac#personfirst#pain
Being part of this team has been so rewarding. I love the work we do generating discourse and introducing people to the power of the written word. Happy Birthday team! #itsourbirthday
