The Beef controversy is a good indicator of people acting in bad faith out of TDS. There is no good solution to the fact that cattle herds were decimated under Biden. Literally none. You can't magically make cows appear out of thin air and high prices mean cattle farmers are incentivized to sell instead of producing more beef.
If you don't import Argentinian beef people will complain about affordability and extremely high beef prices. If you do import Argentinian beef people will complain about undercutting American cattle farmers.
Reasonable people understand that Trump is between a rock and a hard place and the temporary importation of quality beef from Argentina is actually a pretty good answer to an impossible problem.
If we are unable to teach a young man that it’s important to dress nice for passing the sacrament, on what basis will we ever prepare him to be successful on his mission, or in his marriage, or with his own children?
“But it’s not a written rule!”
So? Does it need to be for us to teach it? What part of “higher and holier” do we not understand? The whole point was that we don’t need it to be written down for us to do it.
Here are some other standards for men that aren’t written down:
- open the door for women
- ask girls out in person
- be courteous
- bring flowers on dates
- pay for dates you initiate
- say please and thank you
- have a firm handshake
- make eye contact in conversation
- be on time
- respect your elders
- be clean and dress modestly
- be a gentleman
People rage at Gen-Z men for not doing these things, but maybe they don’t because we’ve lowered our expectations across the board and refuse to teach these things.
Do you know how many girls complain that men don’t act dignified or confident while dating? I’m starting to realize who is to blame—all of you who think it’s too much to ask a young man to dress nicely to church.
Young men need to be taught respect, dignity, discipline, maturity, wisdom, and how to communicate. They need to be taught to be their best selves.
And dressing appropriately to pass the sacrament is an important symbolic lesson that prepares them for missionary service, temple service, and the rest of their lives.
We are failing them if we don’t have high expectations and empower young men to achieve them.
It’s not about the clothes, but the dedication and reverence their behavior and choices symbolize.
As a free market libertarian, I would love it if USDA regulations were the reason beef was expensive. It just doesn't seem true.
Slaughter prices have actually *fallen* while beef prices have risen. Most of the beef premium is going to ranchers.
Beef is a supply-side problem.
I just learned that the Trump administration is giving farmers 4x the amount of assistance given under Biden.
And the farmers are shouting “betrayal”.
This makes me sick.
Trump inherited the smallest beef-cow herd since 1961. You cannot rebuild 30 million breeding animals in six months. You keep ranchers profitable, open grazing land, protect them from drought and losses, expand American processing, encourage them to retain heifers, all of which the Trump USDA is doing —and while those cows reproduce, you temporarily supplement hamburger supply. What exactly is the alternative? Tell Americans to pay $9 a pound for hamburger for three years while we wait for calves to grow up?
I am a rancher. Biden ordered any rancher with a Federal contract to slaughter their herds and over turn their crops. I do not have a contract . Many do. Our cattle need more time. From birth to market a good 2 yrs but we are already in over a yr and a half. We need a few more months before we can slaughter. So what Trump did here helps everyone and the demand. I had a Rumble channel with all ranchers yelling at you all to pay attention what Biden is doing. No one was listening.
Biden ordered culls for 3 years and removed 4M acres of open land from cattle ranchers.
But temporarily alleviating prices while herd sizes rebound is a “betrayal”
@nicoraytruth You should find the book about the first 100 years of the Logan temple. I believe it's called Logan temple: The first 100 years.
It is a telling of the history of the temple and includes numerous accounts of members worshipping there.

California Democrat mayor just quit after admitting she was a Chinese communist agent.
Eileen Wang, mayor of Arcadia, stepped down after striking a plea deal and admitting she acted as an illegal foreign agent for the Chinese government — spreading Beijing’s propaganda in the U.S. under their direction.
She faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
How many more are still in office?

Today, @forestservice has filed a proposed rule to rescind the national 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule in its entirety.
For over 25 years, this rule has restricted road construction and limited the Forest Service's ability to carry out critical active management work within inventoried roadless area.
The rescission intends to prioritize local agency decision-making over regulatory rules that are the same across the country, regardless of specific land management issues and needs.

I am a radical environmentalist and here is why I support this:
My family used to have a cabin bordering national forest in California. The loggers built and maintained an extensive dirt road network that you could ride a quad on for 60 miles and never see anyone else. The logging was selective and done in a way that kept the forest healthy.
When this was restricted, the road and trail network fell into disrepair and you couldn’t get a pickup into the back country. The pine beetle came for the trees, which left a lot of standing fuel for the wildfires, which couldn’t be fought because there was no longer a backcountry dirt road network.
The fires were so intense because of the fuel load that they scarred the land. There was no grow back or burst of flowers the spring after. Just a dead bare mountain that could no longer support the wild life that once flourished there. All thanks to bad federal policy that is now being addressed.
Humans are a part of Nature not apart from Nature. Common sense dictates that we reject the mindset of both the greedy developer and the unhinged restrictionist. We need common sense radical environmentalism.
