Hackers hit water systems in at least seven states this week.

Minnesota got hit the hardest.

More than 30 local water plants and systems were attacked over two days.

Some other states saw problems too.

The hackers went after the computers that control pumps and treatment gear.

They changed passwords and locked workers out.

Some towns had to run everything by hand.

A few issued boil-water notices just to be safe.

So far, the water itself stayed clean.

No one has reported dirty or unsafe drinking water.

Officials say the systems are recovering.

Federal agencies are warning every water plant in the country to lock down their systems right away.

They say these attacks are getting worse.

Some officials think Iran-linked hackers may be behind it, but that is still being checked.
