You couldn't have got a much better day for the demersal ban to be lifted and we could bottom fish again. I opened my account with a nice coral trout hooked on an Abrolhos Tackle Mc Paddle soft plastic.

I don't think there is a much prettier fish in the sea. This coronation trout is definitely one of my favourite catches over the years.

A Shimano Flash Boost for the win again. Another nice tuna pulled feeding on a bait school. @ShimanoAus

It was an incredible sight to see this tuna scream out of a bait school in hot pursuit of my Shimano Flash Boost and the take was awesome. The power of my Shimano Saragosa 14000 certainly helped me beat the sharks.

I spent some time casting a 30 gram Shimano Flash Boost an area where we often see bait. There seemed to be plenty of school mackerel on the hunt but no other bigger predators.

Tuna are a powerhouse of muscle and absolutely one of my favourite species to target.

A bit of sight casting with a Halco Twisty paid off for me. This queenfish put on an amazing show with some spectacular leaps from the water. It was a great fight using my Shimano Stella 4000 and Penn rod combo from Getaway Outdoors.

I started casting a 30 gram Shimano Flash Boost round when I saw some water disturbance. I was hoping to maybe hook a tuna or mackerel but no that's not what I hooked 🤣

It has been a while since I got out for a fish but the last time I did, I was doing mulloway lifts. Another solid mulloway hooked on my Shimano Talica 12 and Penn Ocean Assassin Rod from Getaway Outdoors. Released to grow even bigger.

It is always a nice change when you pull in a rankin cod. They are a high prized fish for their eating qualities.
