I am so honoured and delighted to have been shortlisted for the “Champion of Renewables Award” at the wonderful @ScotRenew Scottish Green Energy Awards this year #SGEA20 see you (virtually) in November!
@NikkiMaguire22@TheEconomist We do also need grid onshore too - to transmit electricity generated offshore to where it will be used! And for onshore low carbon generation too.
@VodafoneUK Hi Amelia, my husband and I have spent a significant number of hours on chat and the phone for the last two and a half weeks. Why are we not receiving updates directly from you? Why are we not being upgraded to unlimited personal data whilst we wait? This is just not good enough
@VodafoneUK@WeAreOpenreach my situation in getting my broadband order fulfilled at new address is becoming impossible. We get a different excuse every 2 days since 13th March with seemingly no hope of resolution. We need to know when we will be connected. @MartinSLewis help!!
Right, it's Rishi!
We literally don't have a moment to lose, so here's a 'wind energy manifesto' for his new Govt👇
🎯Re-establish our 2030 clean energy targets: 50GW of offshore wind, 5GW of floating wind, 'at least 5GW' of green hydrogen
🏃Continue to speed up planning

In case anyone is wondering why Government have ended the ban on onshore wind in England.
It's because it's unquestionably in the interest of bill payers, our energy security, our planet and our economy - and unsurprisingly - it's now incredibly popular as a result.
Thread 1/?
@Survation polling commissioned by @RenewableUK shows that there is overwhelming public support for building new wind and solar farms to tackle the cost of energy crisis.
See our thread below to deep-dive into the data! (1/3)

@davidrvetter@KemiBadenoch I was going to ask the same thing - @KemiBadenoch please could you share whether you will be supporting the current manifesto commitments towards net zero and offshore wind targets, amongst other related matters?
I need a sit down after this week. Westminster antics, an Energy Bill, HND published, AR4 results and first week back after a holiday - all washed down with a bout of covid... 🤯
@Bankfieldbecky Daughters of Night - Laura Shepherd-Robinson. Excellent crime thriller set in Georgian London. I don't tend to enjoy murder/crime thrillers because they're often male-oriented and I don't relate. This one isn't like that and I loved it!
@nathansbennett I am actually dancing!!! I’ve been talking about the need for this to anyone who’ll listen since 2017. (Not claiming to be the first to have noticed, but it means a lot personally after all the time and effort put in).
@BarnabyCBW Mine. And the salesperson from the housing developer told us that we would be unable to switch energy supplier for the first year. I did debunk that myth very fast, in the hope that they wouldn’t tell anyone else that
Not sexy and no one knows what this quite means, but these two sections of the energy security strategy will make or break rapid scale up of renewables this decade
This will require HUGE step changes in planning timescales for transmission infrastructure and the funding mechanisms for securing investments in the same. 50GW offshore wind (plus 5GW floating) cannot be delivered by 2030 without this. #grid#doesthismeangridiscoolnow ?
Fantastic to see the Prime Minister commit to bring forward investment in our grid as part of the upcoming Energy Supply Startegy.
As @kevinhollinrake argued just this morning, this is essential if we're going to raise our renewable energy ambitions 👇

@ClemCowton Woohoo! I got one in December 2019 (I know, amazing timing). Enjoy!!! The clear up is by far the hardest part. Top tip: get to know the other plot holders. They know about things like whether you’ll get pea moth if you plant peas, free wood chip knocking about etc :)
