MKBHD is right that there is at the moment very little legal recourse for this in many countries because someone's voice (or indeed likeness) isn't something traditionally protected, although a buyer of the item might be able to claim misrep. Definitely something to look into.
It's happening. There are real companies who will just use an AI-created rip of my voice to promote their stuff. And there's really no repercussions for it other than being known as this scummy shady company that is willing to stoop that low to sell some product

@8ambino_eth@Pixelmon That's exactly it though, a NFT isn't a share. When the takeover happens the shareholders (who probably rugged the holders) win. The holders get shit. The holders then hope that the new owners do something which isn't a given.
So this is the thing about web3. Normally as a shareholder, if your company gets acquired you get a payday. In web3 when your project gets bought out as an NFT holder you get... Jack shit if you're lucky, rugged if you're not.
@NFT_Unker I'd be more pissed about the flexing than the person failing to return the contribution (which I assume the giver didn't intend for the return of anyway). I would say the lack of humility (he could have made reference to the past and paid it forward) is the most annoying

@rumjahn You definitely can't say it's by Disney. You can say it's Micky mouse but not in a way that insinuates that your reproduction comes from Disney. I'm sure there will be people that won't do it right, but this has precedent in the Winnie the Pooh copyright haha
