And a new game devlog has been posted on my Patreon channel! #indie#gamedev#devlog#unity
The basic swimming animations are finished. Now there are just two more animations left, and then I can move on to diving and underwater swimming.

The water is rising... WHAT DO WE DO NOW?! #indie#gamedev#devlog#unity
The water in the test zone is rising alarmingly. What do we do now?! Of course! We swim! To make that happen, I created three animations that, when combined, give Nick a realistic swimming motion.
@bestdoom20 Thanks! Swimming and the animations are a real milestone for me. And yeah... things are starting to get a bit messy in the Animator. Maybe Unity will do something about that? Just being able to organize the transitions would help a lot. ๐

In this free devlog, we saw the chaos in the Animator that weโd been dreading, and the first swimming animation was created. #indie#gamedev#devlog#unity

Off to the beach... if only there weren't still the problem that Nick doesn't recognize water yet. I've created a control system, but unfortunately the animation is still missing (one week just isn't enough after all).
A new game devlog post has been published on my Patreon channel! This time, we're heading into the water so Nick can finally learn how to swim and dive (very important, even in real life!) #indie#gamedev#devlog

If kneeling isn't enough, then we'll crawl! #indie#gamedev#devlog#wip
If the obstacles are even lower, then crawling is the only way to go. With two more animations and a few tweaks to Animator and the player control script, Nick can now squeeze under even lower obstacles.
There's another new devlog on my Patreon channel. This time, I continued working on lying down, another stealth technique. And for swimming and diving, I built a little underwater world. #indie#gamedev#devlog

How do we get past that? Of courseโwe crawl! #indie#gamedev#devlog#wip
I quickly created three animations for Nick, added a few lines of code to the script, and populated the animator with the new animations. Now Nick can crawl under small nooks.
A new GameDevlog has been posted! This time, we've created a lot of animations for the new long jump technique and the new โkneelingโ movement. #indie#gamedev#devlog

Normal Triple Jump vs. Long Jump #indie#gamedev#devlog
I discovered a new jumping technique completely by accident! If you press the jump button while dodging, Nick performs a long jump. I liked it so much that I made the jump a permanent feature and gave it its own animation.
Before โก๏ธ After! Nick is getting more and more animated.
Heโs now added a triple jump to his repertoire. First a normal jump, then a forward roll, and finally a spin around his own axis. He can also dodge now.
This is truly a work in progress!
@dannyveigatx It's exactly that Euler wrapping issue. Iโve been fixing it manually by smoothing out the overlapping local curves in the Animation tab, but Iโll definitely try switching to Quaternion interpolation next. Thanks for the tip!
