Americans are standing together to #StopAsianHate. The office of CA Attorney General is uniquely positioned to help victims and empower AAPI communities. I join those calling on Gov. @GavinNewsom to appoint @RobBonta who has led on this issue.
@RobBonta Recalling an elected official mid-term is a very LAST resort-- only for egregious cases of misgovernance. This effort is cynical and anti-democratic.
@apaleadership @RobBontaCA @AppointRobToAG Rob has demonstrated anti-racist leadership, just what we need in these times for the CA state Attorney General
@lisaling@GavinNewsom @RobBontaCA We absolutely need someone committed to a progressive direction in the AG's office. Rob Bonta could make such a difference in what justice looks like in California.
.@RobBontaCA is the kind of progressive champion California needs. Rob stands up & fights for economic, environmental, and racial justice. As Attorney General, he'd be a leader in holding special interests accountable and by doing so make California a better place for everyone.
As @XavierBecerra took the stage today in DC, I want to speak to the person who I hope replaces him back here. @RobBontaCA has always been a champion for immigrant communities. He has always stepped up for us so I’ll step forward for him. He has my support for AG! CC @GavinNewsom
.@GavinNewsom has a chance to make a huge statement by appointing @RobBonta, a lifelong champion of criminal justice reform, as CA's next AG. Rob has led fights to end cash bail, rollback mandatory minimums & outlaw private prisons. It would be a big moment for our movement.
In appointing CA's next AG, @GavinNewsom will make a BIG decision about the direction of our criminal justice system. @RobBonta, who has passed major reforms, would be a partner in creating a more just system. He will have every Californian’s back.
It's rare for me make any political endorsements, but I've admired @RobBontaCA for years: his support for criminal justice reform and immigrant rights, the multiracial coalition he builds and attracts.
Here's hoping @GavinNewsom appoints Rob as California's next Attorney General
Representation matters even more if our collective humanity benefits from it. And that's what Rob's work has consistently shown, evidenced by his support from @aliciagarza, @dianeguerrero__, @SupervisorAlejo, et al.
Rob makes me proud to be Filipino American in California.
For Assemblymember Bonta’s entire career he has been a champion of racial equity, human dignity, immigration rights, and public safety. As a moral and legislative leader, we believe Assemblymember Bonta would be an incredible Attorney General. He's the best choice, @GavinNewsom!
I would like to throw my hat in support for @RobBonta to be this state’s next AG. Made history as the first Filipino state legislator and I know he would be a fair and steady AG for this state. Representation at all levels. #pinoyproud
.@RobBonta has been a champion for working people for years. We believe Rob is the best choice to fill the position of Attorney General. He has strong credentials and he is also someone who will bring people together, listen and lead. He would be a great AG.
@GavinNewsom
@_MsGTeaches@peraltacitizen@PeraltaColleges@Laney_College The Citizen is an indispensable part of Peralta student power. These amazing citizen-journalists keep us informed. And they keep us accountable to serving the needs of our students and community. Not just playing- this is the real thing.
@CFA_News @GavinNewsom @RobBontaCA As a lifelong community college educator and an elected education leader, I'm a big fan of Rob Bonta's candidacy for an AG appointment. Faculty members across the state agree.
“We need a strong advocate for justice and equality as California's next Attorney General, especially under the current circumstances. Asm Bonta has been a champion in our fight to achieve gender parity in our government."
