I get asked what KinkyBunny will look like in two years.

The honest answer is that I don't know.

I used to think saying that made me sound unserious — that a founder should always have a confident version of the future ready to hand.

Now I think the opposite. The people who can describe year two in detail usually haven't survived year one.

I know what we're building this month. I know what we won't do, at any point. The rest I'd be inventing to sound impressive.

I've caught myself wanting to be believed.

It's an uncomfortable thing to notice. You work on something for years, you know your own intentions, and part of you wants people to just take your word for it.

They shouldn't. I wouldn't.

Every platform that later mistreated creators also said the right things early on — sincerely, some of them. Intentions aren't a guarantee of anything.

So I've stopped asking anyone to trust me. I'd rather be checkable.

Last month I told someone this probably isn't for them.

They took it well. I thought about it for two days anyway - you don't spend years building something and then find it easy to turn a person away from it.

But letting in someone whose expectations I can't meet isn't generosity. It's a slower way of disappointing them.

Not everyone I say no to is a loss. Most are a mismatch I caught early enough to be honest about.

For a long time I answered "who is this for?" with "creators".

It's a comfortable answer. It's also close to meaningless - it let me avoid choosing, and everything I built while avoiding it came out vague.

KinkyBunny is for adult creators. Specifically. People the rest of the internet is happy to take money from and unwilling to name.

Narrowing it didn't shrink the work. It made every decision obvious.

The idea I liked most is the one I cut.
It was clever.
It would have looked good in a demo.
It also would have taken two months and answered a question nobody had asked me.
There's a difference between an idea that's good and an idea that's needed.
I can't always tell them apart on my own, which is why I ask people who'd actually use it before I let myself fall in love with anything.
Cutting it stung. Keeping it would have cost more.

Not everything about this industry is complicated.

Creators make things people value. The layers in between take too much and explain too little.

I'm not building this to be provocative. I'm building it because adult creators deserve infrastructure that's boring in the right ways — payouts that arrive, rules that don't change overnight, respect that isn't conditional.

Everything else is decoration.

Nobody warns you that the week something goes live feels quieter than the week before it.

No confetti. Just a longer list of things to fix.

Building taught me the real signal isn't the launch. It's whether you still want to open the laptop on day nine — when the novelty is gone and the bugs aren't.

I've watched too many creator platforms launch loud, then spend a year apologising for what they promised in the first week.

I'd rather under-announce and over-deliver. Even if it's slower. Even if fewer people notice at first.

The people who need this will find it.
