Proudly ‘off-Flint.’ Family and special people at the heart of my life. Animal lover, footballer, and motor-biker. Straightforward - genuine - no pretence!
Absolutely shocked to the core. I came back from a family funeral today to the devastating news that Ann Widdecombe had been brutally murdered in her own home.
She was so much more than a politician. Over the years at rallies and conventions she always made time to chat with me and everyone around her - a genuinely warm and lovely person who made you feel valued.
Her untimely death at the hands of a murderer is heartbreaking. Attacking a defenceless 78-year-old woman is utterly disgusting and reflects the state of Britain today. I have no words.

No sign of a Burnham bounce, with @RUKWales deservedly receiving more votes than Plaid, Labour, and Tories combined! 👏
Roll on next May.

Pleased that the First Minister agreed with my call for Wrexham's #CityOfCulture2029 bid to be judged not by a single year of celebrations, but by the lasting legacy it leaves behind.
Wrexham deserves long-term investment, stronger local businesses, opportunities for young people and a thriving cultural and economic future. I'll continue championing the city to ensure those ambitions become reality.
Best of luck to @wrexhamcbc and everyone working so hard on the bid. Wrexham has a remarkable story to tell, and I want to see it succeed.

Today, @NigelWReform and I had a very positive introductory meeting with Alwyn Jones, Chief Executive of @wrexhamcbc.
We greatly appreciated Alwyn’s openness, professionalism and generous willingness to engage with us from the outset. It was an encouraging discussion focused on how we can work together to deliver the best possible outcomes for the people of Wrexham.
As your Reform UK Members of the Senedd, our commitment is to work tirelessly for our constituents, support our communities and ensure Wrexham continues to thrive.
Thank you, Alwyn, for your time and warm welcome. We look forward to building a positive and constructive working relationship in the interests of everyone across the county borough.

Really saddened to hear of the passing of Ann Widdecombe. She was a force in politics: intelligent, articulate and never afraid to say what needed saying, even when it was unpopular.
I had the privilege of meeting her several times over the years and always valued our conversations. A formidable character who will be greatly missed.

Big big congratulations to Councillor David Vernon on his election tonight for Connah’s Quay Central Ward in @FlintshireCC - he and Sue are hard workers and his election tonight is thoroughly deserved. He’s now part of our ever growing team on Flintshire County Council - Reform are now the second largest group in the chamber there.

Absolutely delighted to see David Vernon elected in Connah’s Quay! 🎉👏
A huge congratulations to David on a fantastic victory, and a massive thank you to everyone who got behind the campaign. This is a brilliant result for Connah’s Quay and another big step forward for Reform UK Wales.
The momentum is real, and more people across Wales are putting their faith in common-sense politics and positive change.
Well done, David, you’ve absolutely smashed it! Looking forward to seeing all the great work you’ll do for the community. 🏴 🩵

The Senedd Commission has achieved something extraordinary: claiming to “comply” with the Supreme Court while implying biological women should use the men’s toilets. That’s not implementation, it’s a spectacular demonstration that they haven’t understood the judgment.
Good on @DanWalesReform for exposing the absurdity.

Reform UK's group on Flintshire County Council has grown to nine councillors, according to the council's own website, including one previously elected as a Conservative. https://t.co/AMOL5LCQpP
Absolutely unacceptable.
No football fan should have to choose between leaving before the final whistle or facing an overnight ordeal because the last train has already gone. Supporting your club shouldn’t mean sleeping on a station bench (not everyone can afford an overnight in a hotel).
North Wales deserves transport infrastructure that works for our communities—not one designed around Cardiff.
Come on @tfwrail, sort this out before the season starts.

Yesterday in the Senedd, I spoke on corporate parenting. It was deeply personal and, at times, difficult to get through.
If the State is to act as a parent, it must be a good one - attentive, protective, and ready to act. We cannot allow more children to fall through the cracks.
Read why this matters:

Louise gets it!
Real world experience, with real world practical ideas.
Be more like Louise!
However…. the other side seriously don’t get it!
The new-left, believe you can be taxed into prosperity!
Regressively taxing the poorest, is success now!
Under Plaid - Labour - Wales will become equal, equally poor!
Diolch.
Are football supporters really expected to sleep on park benches because there isn't a practical train home from Cardiff?
Today I challenged the Welsh Government about Transport for Wales services for North Wales fans travelling to the Cardiff City v Wrexham fixture on 17 August.
Fans deserve better!

Labour’s hypocrisy is staggering.
A British citizen living abroad who loves this country and wants to support its future faces ever more obstacles to participating in our democracy.
Yet people with no real attachment to the UK, who may not speak English, reject our values, and have never contributed to building this country can, in many cases, vote in our elections once they meet the legal franchise.
Labour talks about protecting democracy from “foreign influence” while expanding political influence for those with little or no stake in Britain’s history, identity or long-term future.
If protecting democracy is the goal, start by respecting the voice of British citizens.
Up early on a Sunday for @BBCRadioWales — but this one matters.
In Wales, a care leaver is better protected by Westminster than by their own Government — because we’ve left it to a voluntary charter.
We don’t leave safeguarding to goodwill. So why corporate parenting?
Great to meet the team behind the Coalfields Regeneration Trust this week at Y Farchnad in #Senedd knowing they were the same fantastic people who organised last year’s Coalfields Walking Football Cup at Colliers Park, Gresford - the FAW National Football Development Centre. Proud to have played in goal for Coedpoeth Walking Football Club! Initiatives like this keep our older generation active, improving both physical and mental health. Diolch for all you do - and delighted Coedpoeth had a strong showing on the day too.
