ADC to APC: YOU ARE A PARTY OF LIARS, THE PEOPLE YOU PARADE NOT OUR CANDIDATES.

The African Democratic Congress has dismissed the APC’s claim that it received ADC House of Assembly candidates from Jigawa, Plateau, Taraba and Zamfara States as wishful thinking and a figment of the APC’s imagination.

In a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, the party said the individuals being paraded are not ADC candidates, or leaders.

“The APC cannot assemble random individuals at its secretariat, confer imaginary ADC credentials on them and then announce their defection. While the APC Chairman is welcome to receive visitors, he should stop introducing them to Nigerians as people they are not. These people are not our candidates ”

The party also mocked the claim that the supposed defectors were attracted by the administration’s “remarkable transformation” of Northern Nigeria.

“Having invented ADC credentials for its guests, the APC has supplied an equally imaginative account of its performance over the past few years. The APC should explain how these fake photo-ops bring down food prices, protect Nigeria’s communities or help struggling families pay their bills. Nigerians are asking for evidence of better lives; the APC is manufacturing photographs and congratulating itself.”

The ADC challenged the APC to substantiate the credentials it had assigned to the fake individuals that it paraded as ADC members.

“The APC should state the ADC offices these individuals supposedly held, the constituencies they represented as our candidates and when they held those positions. The APC should enjoy its photographs and spare Nigerians this unnecessary fiction.”

I received in audience Abba Hikima Esq, one of the leading conveners of the Tinubu Must Go #TMG Nationwide Campaign, following the movement’s recently concluded nationwide poll, which recorded an impressive participation of 109,799 respondents.

I am particularly encouraged by the depth of citizen engagement reflected in the exercise, in which my candidacy received an overwhelming 73.6% of the votes, with the ADC emerging as the preferred political platform.

Beyond the outcome of the poll, what is significant is the larger aspiration it represents: a growing national yearning for change and the collective determination to rescue Nigeria from its present trajectory.

I fully endorse the movement and invite all Nigerians who share this aspiration to join this noble cause. I also look forward to engaging with the wider national leadership of the Tinubu Must Go movement as we work together towards the larger objective of rebuilding a united, prosperous and democratic Nigeria. -AA

WHERE IS PRESIDENT TINUBU?
......PRESIDENCY MUST COME CLEAN ON PROLONGED ABSENCE

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has demanded full disclosure from the Presidency over the prolonged absence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from Nigeria, six days after the expiration of his originally announced three-week vacation.

The ADC PCC is deeply concerned that, as of Sunday, September 27, 2026, President Tinubu has yet to return to the country following the expiration of the vacation reportedly scheduled to end on September 21.

The Presidency owes Nigerians a clear and transparent explanation. The continued absence of the President, without sufficient public information on his whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the extension of his stay abroad, has inevitably generated questions and public concern.

The office of the President is a public trust. Nigerians who elected President Tinubu are entitled to know where their President is and, more importantly, who is exercising presidential authority while he remains outside the country.

This is particularly important at a time when Nigeria is confronted by serious economic pressures, widespread hardship and persistent security challenges.

The country cannot afford uncertainty at the highest level of government.

The ADC therefore calls on the Presidency to immediately come clean with Nigerians and provide clear, verifiable information on the President's current location, the reason for the prolonged absence and the constitutional arrangements governing the administration of the country during this period.

The Presidency must also clarify the status of the President's vacation and explain the constitutional basis for the current arrangement, particularly where the President remains away from the country beyond the period earlier communicated to Nigerians.

Nigerians deserve openness, not secrecy. Presidential movements and the exercise of executive authority cannot be treated as matters of private convenience when they directly concern the governance of a nation of more than 200 million people.

The ADC is equally concerned by the reported decision to extend the President's vacation and the directive that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, should continue to represent the President at official functions.

While the Presidency may provide administrative explanations for the arrangement, the ADC believes that such explanations do not answer the fundamental question confronting Nigerians: who is constitutionally and effectively in charge of the affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria while the President remains away?

The ADC joins concerned Nigerians in demanding transparency, accountability and respect for the constitutional responsibilities attached to the office of President.

President Tinubu was elected to lead Nigeria, and Nigerians have a legitimate expectation that the Presidency will keep them adequately informed about matters affecting the exercise of presidential authority.

The ADC therefore calls on the Presidency to immediately provide Nigerians with a comprehensive and unambiguous explanation. Silence can only deepen public anxiety and fuel speculation.
