Utah’s first rural inpatient behavioral health unit will soon begin serving patients at Castleview Hospital, bringing specialized care closer to home for people in Carbon, Emery and surrounding counties.

For too long, rural Utahns in a behavioral health crisis have had to travel hours from home or wait in emergency rooms for an available bed. This new 14-bed unit will help change that, with the capacity to serve up to 500 patients each year.

I’m grateful to the Castleview team for taking a chance, leading the way and caring deeply about the people they serve.
