Love Hope Purpose 365 days/year of outreach, care & support for people living with poverty, addictions, mental health issues, homelessness. #SurreyBC#LangleyBC
#25– Merry Christmas! Thank you community of support, for your incredible servant hearts: countless hours volunteered, prayers provided, donations given. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others & to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26–28)
ADVENT #24 - Advent season blessings. Jen from Milieu Family Service appeared on a snowy, wet afternoon to bestow upon the NightShift community this blessing & ask about ways to get involved. That night, our volunteer team distributed tasty wraps & sodas courtesy Jen & her team!
Last week, a team of Century Group volunteers cooked a delicious stew at @DominionSurrey and distributed this hot meal along with 100 holiday-wrapped shoe boxes filled with essential items to people in need and people impacted by homelessness with NightShift Street Ministries
ADVENT #23 - The miracle of friendship. Human connection is vital to our survival & sharing hope. Gord & Dawson, two unlikely friends, connected thru afternoons in NightShift’s Welcome Centre that Dawson facilitates. Not just hot meals, but the community is what Gord enjoys most.
ADVENT #22 – On the 12 Days of Christmas... @TLFCS shines a light on groups that make Langley a better place. Thank you for choosing NightShift to be in the lineup this year & for the generous donation to help us continue to serve hot nightly (Mon-Thu) meals at Vineyard Church.
ADVENT #20 – Giving back. Mike, with a genuine heart for giving back. Homeless & hanging around the NightShift 'hood, until one night he decided to join our prayer circle, then everything changed. “Now I can afford to give back,” & he does, regularly, to the NightShift community.
We are proud to support @NightShift_SM in their mission to provide hope and purpose for those in our communities. Our volunteers put together care packages and we have provided a charitable donation to the annual Christmas dinner to make the #holidays brighter for those in need.
ADVENT #19 – The season of giving. Sheila & Stephanie from @BELFORGroup emptied a whole car full of warm clothing & essential outreach items into our office this morning. Each year, Belfor chooses a charity to support & this year they chose NightShift & our street friends!
ADVENT #18 – God wants to hear from us all. After @centurygroupdev served a hot meal & handed out beautifully wrapped Christmas presents & treats, one of our street friends prayed that everyone would have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing beef stew at least once in their lives
ADVENT #17 – Pouring out blessings with a servant heart. Pastor Ashish & the @CityBlessingVan crew were looking to partner with an organization to get involved in the community & make an impact. They did so beautifully, pouring #kindness on our street friends. #lovehopepurpose
ADVENT #15 - Caring for others. Deb has been volunteering with our Surrey Thu night outreach team for 10+ years. As a cancer survivor, she understands how important it is to feel loved & cared for when we are at our most vulnerable. Deb regularly shares the kindness shown to her.
ADVENT #15 - Corporate kindness from the heart. The @mcquarrie_law office made care kits & gave a generous donation in support of our annual Christmas Dinner for friends in need - 17 Dec #Surrey & 20 Dec #Langley - see you there! Corporate kindness helps build healthy communities
ADVENT #14 - Teach, inspire & love. Educating the mind & educating the heart are equally important. This warm-hearted teacher wanted her G7 class to learn about giving back. Thank you James Ardiel Elementary for your dedication to lifting spirits of those in need #lovehopepurpose
ADVENT #13 - The generosity of God’s people. That’s what NightShift Founder/President, Mac said, staring appreciatively at a mountain of donations the wonderful residents of @ElimVillage collectively donated. Everyone deserves to feel the embrace of a caring Christian community.
ADVENT #12 - Simple acts & big impacts. Meet Lee, a friend in the NightShift neighbourhood, who carries a presence of kindness, grace & gratitude. She collects bags for us to distribute during our evening outreach & shares, “It’s a simple useful thing I can do for the community!”
ADVENT #11 - Relationship First. We deeply value the role that friendship plays in NightShift's outreach & services. Time and again we hear, "I came for the food, but stayed for the friends." Like Mike & Greg, friends ever since they met years ago at an outreach dinner! #unity
ADVENT #10 - Feeding hungry hearts. When not in use as a professional catering vehicle, Taste of Heaven is an outreach vehicle used to serve hot meals to people in need in Langley. “Taste of Heaven is a unique symbol of hope,” shares Deanna, our new Taste of Heaven Coordinator.
ADVENT #9 - Going straight to the people. Ginger with @interfitpilates brought in bags and bags of clean, warm winter clothes and blankets! She chose NightShift she said, because there are no barriers to people accessing our help when they need it. #lovehopepurpose#blankets
