Over the last 18 months I have been present at concerts where on 2 occasions involving 2 separate pianists, both denounced Putin and said how appalled they were at what had unfolded in Ukraine.

Though there would have been some in the audience who felt that was unnecessary and perhaps some who were offended, why was it ok for them and not for Gillham, when in their case, they were clearly expressing an opinion, and he was merely stating facts?

It seems we’re offended by the truth when it doesn’t suit us. People are free to speak, as long as we are not offended by what they say. That is not freedom of speech.
