I was actually thinking about this as well while working out this morning. Something seems to have shifted in the last 10 years or so. Everything feels different. I wrote lyrics about it recently called Memories Compromised. It’s almost like the masses’ memories have been wiped and new feelings and thoughts have been put in. Almost like they now believe they’ve been thinking this way all of their lives when really their memories have been compromised.

@elonmusk I remember when I read the news I was very happy. I knew this would be a great thing for Twitter. I have been on the platform since 2011 and around the time you bought Twitter, it was the worst I had ever seen the platform and it made me a little sad.

Wanted to share something I just came across about how X’s For You feed actually works right now.

A lot of us are trying to figure out reach and what actually moves the needle, so I figured this might be useful. The big takeaway from the latest look at the open-source algorithm: new posts (especially from smaller accounts) are no longer getting cut first when the system has too many candidates to score. Everything gets trimmed more evenly now.

Still true that the first couple hours matter a lot, likes carry more weight than they used to, and the usual stuff (shares, replies from mutuals, time spent) still outweighs raw likes. But the “new posts last in line” part appears to have changed.

I hope you find this info helpful if you’re in the trenches with this stuff.
