What we do in the shadows

This films a bit of a curiousity.

A comedy documentary about vampires living in New Zealand. I found it quite amusing and it has a lot of vampire traditions in it, but not everyone i know who has seen it agrees. Worth a go though.

vampire films can be fun and cool , whereas some have them as romantic heroes trying not to eat people.

Lets not forget though Bram Stokers novel of dracula which is just damned scary. Copolla’s film in the 90’s was a great version and still is today. Be scared.🧛‍♂️

When we first met my wife and i went on a date to see 30 days of night.

It’s not very romantic as this is a brutal vampire film but we are still together!

I’m not a fan of romantic charming vampires which is good as there are none of these. Enjoy

The video Dead is a film i remember fondly but it’s just not good enough for the top 20.

Featuring a TV set stuck showing a zombie film, until the zombies decide to climb through the screen. I doubt it inspired the ring but it is creepy. Enjoy

George A Romero of Zombie fame made a vampire movie called Martin, which he said was his favourite movie that he made.

He’s wrong of course, but is worth a look. martin is a young man who has s taste for blood and thinks he is a vampire. It is different. enjoy.

A film i really enjoyed in the 80’s was fright night about a young man who was convinced a vampire had moved next door and he was right. It was very entertaining.

So avoid the 2011 remske and enjoy an 80’s classic.

Who doesn’t love a quentin taratino scirpted movie. Add George clooney and a bar called the titty twister and salem hayek and you have a classic vampire movie.

From dusk till dawn is a fast moving well made movie with lots to take in. I’m a fan. Enjoy

My wife recently took me to see Renfield. (Her choice so her fault if crap)

I’m not sure if Evil Dead Rises (my choice) is better but i really enjoyed it.

I liked the cast, the tone, the story etc and it was a bit gory in places🩸

Just my kind of vampire film😀

A Film not on my top 20 is zombie wars 2007.

This is a truly baffling film.

It has zombies with human farms which is just stupid. 18 years to grow a meal. Come on…..

Also has a check point with no fences….

I could go on but won’t. Watch out of curiosity only.

Some of my favourite vampire movies are the blade films.

Wesley Snipes is great as blade and they are tast paced and exciting.

My favourite was 3 but i seem to be alone in that.

Someone out there thinks zombies and sex need to be in the same films.

This has led to zombie strippers, milfs v zombies & zombies, zombies, zombies (set in s strip club). There appear to be others.

My conclusion is sex and zombies = bad

When i was younger tv used to show hammer films a lot and there were some Dracula films in there.

I watched them all but probably because i don’t really enjoy period films my favourite was Dracula 1972 AD.

Christopher lee as Dracula is classic so give it a go.

Zombie top 20 no 6 Return of the living Dead

The first zombie film i saw was day of the dead. After that i bought this and it was so different but so great. This was the advent of brain eating zombies. Amazing stuff and can i just say “send more paramedics”. #zombies
