एक बहुत दिलचस्प बात नोट कर रहा हूं। सोशल मीडिया पर एक वाक्य लगातार घूम रहा है-- "मुगलों ने भी मंदिरों को उतना नहीं लूटा जितना इन लोगों को लूटा।"
अगर आप इतिहास के सामान्य विद्यार्थी रहे हैं तब भी आपके लिए दिमाग दौड़कर ये याद कर पाना कठिन होगा कि मुगलों ने मंदिरों को कब लूटा?
सबसे संकीर्ण माने जाने वाले मुगल औरंगजेब के शासन में काशी विश्वनाथ सहित कई मंदिरों के तोड़े जाने का उल्लेख मिलता है, लेकिन लूट का जिक्र नहीं। ऐतिहासिक तथ्य ये भी है कि औरंगजेब ने अपनी राजनीतिक वफादारी वाले कई राजा- महाराजों के मंंदिरों को अनुदान भी दिये।
मुगलकाल में सूरदास, तुलसीदास और मीराबाई जैसे भक्ति काल के कवि हुए।इतना ही नहीं अब्दुल रहीम खानखाना और सैयद इब्राहिम रसखान जैसे मुसलमान कवि भी हुए जिन्होंने हिंदू देवताओं पर सुंदर रचनाएं लिखीं। जायसी का पद्मावत भी इसी काल में लिखा गया।
फिर मुगलों के मंदिर लूट लेने की बात सोशल मीडिया पर क्यों घूम रही है और उसका प्रचार-प्रसार वो लोग भी क्यों कर रहे हैं, जो खुद को बीजेपी-आरएसएस के विचारों का विरोधी बताते हैं।
प्रचार, दुष्प्रचार और अफवाह के तौर पर चलती हुई बहुत सारी बातें आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता लोक स्मृति का हिस्सा इस तरह बन जाती हैं कि जनता उसे वास्तव में इतिहास मानने लगती है। आरएसएस इस सच से पूरी तरह वाफिक है और संभवत: बाकी देश अनजान।
अपनी वाचिक परंपरा से संघ ने जो इतिहास गढ़ा है, वो उसके राजनीतिक उदेश्यों में पूरी तरह काम आ रहा है। राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन को धूमिल करने और इतिहास के उस कालखंड में अपने पूर्वजों की काला बाजारी और अंग्रेजों की मुखबिरी को छिपाने के लिए संघ ने जो-जो किस्से गढ़े, समाज के एक बड़े हिस्से ने उसे सच मान लिया।
आरएसएस भारत के इतिहास के पूरे इस्लामिक दौर को मुगल काल के रूप में प्रस्तुत करता है। यह भ्रम इतना बड़ा है कि किसी अनपढ़ आदमी लिए महमूद गजनबी और अकबर में फर्क करना मुश्किल हो जाता है।
आखिर हर मुसलमान शासक को मुगल कहने के इस खेल के पीछे क्या रणनीति है? संघ जानता है कि मुगलकाल बहुत से अर्थों में भारत का स्वर्ण युग था। मुगलकाल में चीन के बाद भारत दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यस्था था और ग्लोबल जीडीपी में उसका हिस्सा लगभग 20 प्रतिशत था। अंग्रेज जब भारत से गये उस समय विश्व अर्थव्यवस्था में भारत की हिस्सेदारी घटकर 3 फीसदी रह गई थी।
आपने टीवी पर चीख रहे बीजेपी प्रवक्ताओं के मुंह से कभी नादिरशाह और अहमद शाह अब्दाली जैसे हमलावरों के नाम सुने हैं, जिन्होंने संभवत: भारत में सबसे ज्यादा कत्ल-ए-आम किया था? संघ के निशाने पर मुगलकाल है, आखिर क्यों?
संघ भारतीय मुसलमानों के साथ एक किस्म की मनोवैज्ञानिक लड़ाई लड़ रहा है, इसलिए वह उन प्रतीकों पर सबसे ज्यादा हमलावर है, जिसे आम भारतीय मुसलमान अपनी विरासत मान सकें। इसीलिए संघ को आजादी की लड़ाई में झांसी की रानी नायिका के तौर पर स्वीकार हैं लेकिन बहादुर शाह जफर नहीं।
इतिहास कभी एकरंगा नहीं होता है। जब आप अकादमिक किस्म से कोई गंभीर चर्चा करेंगे तो मुगल काल के बारे में भी बहुत सी आलोचनात्मक बातें निकलकर आएंगी लेकिन इस बात से कौन इनकार कर सकता है कि स्थापत्य, जल प्रबंधन से लेकर वित्त प्रबंधन तक वो पूरा सिस्टम मुगलों का ही बनाया हुआ है, जिसके बड़े हिस्से को अंग्रेजों ने भी इस्तेमाल किया और आज भी किसी ना किसी रूप में चल रहा है।
'बर्बर' मुगलों के दौर में ही तुलसीदास ने लिखा था--
"माँगि कै खैबो, मसीत को सोइबो, लैबो को एकु न दैबो को दोऊ"
तुलसीदास को मस्जिद में सोने से डर नहीं लगता था लेकिन आज बहुत से लोगों को मुगल शब्द से लगता है।

असम में अनमुल हक 16 डॉक्यूमेंट पेश करने के बावजूद भारतीय नागरिकता साबित नहीं कर सका। 28 फरवरी 2019 को असम जिले के विदेशी न्यायाधिकरण ने उसे विदेशी घोषित किया था। वह इसके खिलाफ हाईकोर्ट गया। खुद को भारतीय साबित करने के लिए उसने 16 दस्तावेज पेश किए।

आज दुखी हूं, कॉलेज में काम खत्म होने के बाद भी स्टाफ रूम में बैठा रहा, कदम उठ ही नहीं रहे थे।
दो बच्चों ने आज ही एड्मिशन लिया और जब उन्होंने फीस लगभग 16000 सुना और होस्टल फीस लगभग 1,20,000 सुनकर एड्मिशन कैंसिल करने को कहा।
पिता ने लगभग पैर पकड़ते हुए कहा कि सर, मजदूर है राजस्थान से, हमने सोचा कि सरकारी कॉलेज है तो फीस कम होगी, होस्टल की सुविधा होगी सस्ते मे, इसलिए आ गए थे।
मैंने रोकने की कोशिश भी की लेकिन अंत में एडमिशन कैंसिल ही करा लिया।
बैठकर, ये सोच रहा था कि एक तरफ जहां लोग सस्ती शिक्षा चाह रहे हैं वहीं दूसरी तरफ सरकार कह रही है कि 30 प्रतिशत खुद जेनेरेट कीजिये।
ऑटोनोमी के नाम पर निजिकरण हो रहा है।
सोचिये दिल्ली विश्विद्यालय के चारो तरफ प्राइवेट यूनिवर्सिटी का जाल बिछ रहा है।
जो लोग 15,000 की फीस नही दे पा रहे वो लाखों की फीस प्राइवेट यूनिवर्सिटी को कहां से देंगे ?
लगभग ऐसे कई बच्चे डीयू के तमाम कॉलेजों में एड्मिशन कैंसिल कराते होंगे।
इन दो बच्चों में एक बच्चा हिन्दू और दूसरा मुसलमान था, दोनों ओबीसी।
ये उस देश मे हो रहा है जहां के प्रधानमंत्री खुद को ओबीसी क्लेम कर रहे हैं,
ये उस देश में हो रहा है जिसके प्रधानमंत्री स्वयं चाय बेचने की बात करते हैं।
अरे भाई आप गरीब है तो इनके लिए ही कुछ कर देते।
कॉलेज में कई तरह की स्कालरशिप तो हैं लेकिन फीस भरने के लिए काफी नही, होस्टल फीस भरने लायक तो कतई नही।
PG में रेंट पर रहना तो अच्छी आर्थिक व्यवस्था वाले लोगों के भी वश का नही।
शिक्षक एक कार्पस फण्ड बनाने की बात कर रहे हैं ताकि ऐसे बच्चों की मदद किया जा सके।
लेकिन इससे एक दो लोगों की मदद तो हो सकती है लेकिन सर्व कल्याण तो सरकार की नीतियों से ही होगा।
लेकिन सरकार को खुद बचा रहना है और बाकी मंत्रालयों को उनको बचाये रखना है
तो गरीब मजदूर क्या करें।
लेकिन मैं दुखी हूं कालेज का 95 प्रतिशत का कटऑफ और बच्चे के पास 95 प्रतिशत नम्बर हैं
लेकिन इसके बावजूद भी गरीब बच्चे क्या करेंगे ?
गांव गोद लिए जा रहे हैं और लोग गरीब हुए जा रहे हैं।
बेटी बचाओ बेटी बढ़ाओ का नारा कितना फेक लगता है।
गर्ल्स कॉलेज बेटियों को उच्च शिक्षा देने के लिए ही बना था लेकिन आज एक गरीब की बेटी उसी से महरूम हो गई।
विश्विद्यालय अपने यूनिवर्सिटी होने का चरित्र खो रही है।
बाकी फर्स्ट कट ऑफ का एड्मिसन खत्म हो गया है।
दूसरे और तमाम कटऑफ में भी शायद ऐसे कितने बच्चे आएंगे और वापस चले जायेंगे।
ये सालों से हो रहा होगा लेकिन जब भारत बदल रहा था तो शायद ये भी बदल जाता।
बाकी अब कुछ नहीं। शिक्षा मंत्रालय रोज एक नया फरमान ला रहा है।
उस पिता ने कहा कि सुना था कि JNU की फीस कम है उसी से सोच लिए थे कि यहां भी कम होगी।
अब आप समझे JNU को खत्म क्यों किया जा रहा है।

Dia Mirza was very proud of her eco-consciousness. She had taught her son all about recycling and avoiding plastic. The little kid was admonishing everybody left right and center.

He blasted the vegetable seller and made him switch to artisanal Fabindia jute bags.

He shamed the coconut seller and threw away all his plastic straws.

He destroyed the janitor's kid who was playing with a plastic ball.

He threw away the local chaat seller's Kurkure - because of rumors that it contained plastic.

Dia had taught him to abhor plastic.

One day, Dia and her son were driving in their gas-guzzling Jaguar. It had minimal plastic, so Dia did not care.

"Driver baaya driver baaya... follow that Maruti Alto!" screamed Dia. A middle class car after all, was bound to be loaded with plastic. Dia and junior had found a perfect target for the evening.

"BEEP BEEP BEEP" honked the Jaguar. Noise pollution was no issue to Dia. The Michelin tyres were burning as the driver screeched to a halt.

"GET OUT OF THE CAR YOU PLASTIC FIEND!" screamed Dia like a banshee.

The Alto's window pane slid down. Dia saw the driver and let out a scream. "Please forgive me amma. I did not realise it was you!"

"No problem beta. You know that the only plastic i use is my access card to the Rajya Sabha," said the simple elderly lady in a cotton saree. Dia Junior had tears coming out of his eyes.

Because R Madhavan had appeared out of nowhere, along with AR Rahman and Sivamani. They had metal instruments. "Zara zara..." crooned Madhavan as Dia started dancing elegantly in the Mumbai rain. Petrichor.

Please read this carefully.

First of all, no one can eat 100 or even 50 grams of dry soya chunks equivalent in one meal. It's crazy.

Next. Cooked soya chunks contain a much lower amount of protein as most of it is water after cooking. 100 grams of cooked soya chunks contain max 15 grams of protein.

Next. Protein absorption rate is much lower in case of soya chunks. Our body can absorb 95% of egg protein, whereas in the case of soya chunks, it is 75 to 80% at best.

Next. Egg gives you all essential nutrients. Like Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Choline, healthy fat like Omega 3 etc. Soya chunks don't.

Finally. Soya chunks are not naturally available food. It falls under highly processed food. So consumption of it in moderation is absolutely fine. But making it a primary source of protein and consuming it regularly can have other side effects.

Studies have been done and inferences have been drawn on both sides. Some concluded about side effects. Some debunked it. Side effects could be high uric acid, high isoflavones, gastrointestinal distress and thyroid interference.

So, of course eat soya chunks. But don't start propaganda like this ISKCON guy using it as a tool to establish your point.

As someone from a Jain family where only vegetarian meals are prepared at home, I say this without any shame or hesitation: a standard vegetarian diet is inferior and sucks.. The typical vegetarian thali, no matter how elaborate, rarely matches the nutrient density, satiety, and flavor complexity of a well-balanced non-vegetarian meal.

I’ve always disliked the forced imposition of vegetarianism..whether cultural, religious, or moral. Diet should be a personal choice rooted in awareness, not guilt or blind tradition. That said, I continue to eat vegetarian, not because I was born into it, but because it aligns with my individual ethics. I fully respect anyone who makes the same choice.

However, respect doesn’t mean denial. If you choose to stay vegetarian, have the intellectual honesty to admit its limitations. Then take full responsibility for fixing them.
