As a tinkerer for over 20 years, I support the Right to Tinker movement.

You buy a smartphone for hundreds of euros… but once unboxed, are you truly its owner?

More and more manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Google, and others) are permanently locking the bootloader. The result: you can’t install another operating system, deeply modify the device, remove bloatware, or even repair it easily.

The Right to Tinker movement defends a simple but fundamental idea:

" Anyone who lawfully owns a smartphone must have the right to disable manufacturer-imposed locks and regain full control of their device. "

This is about:

🔹Digital sovereignty (not depending on a single manufacturer)

🔹Right to repair and extending device lifespan

🔹Privacy (being able to audit what runs on your phone)

🔹Environment (reducing planned obsolescence)

PS5 emulation has hit another impressive milestone.
A Discord user named RSantila reportedly booted Astro Bot on a Windows PC using SharpEmu, an experimental PS5 emulator.

This is huge since Astro Bot is a 2024 PS5 exclusive and shows how quickly PS5 emulation is advancing.

One interesting detail is that Claude is listed as a contributor to the SharpEmu project on GitHub because people are using it to advance even faster.

Apparently the community is contributing more after Sony’s recent announcement about ending physical game distribution in some markets.

Don’t expect to play PS5 games on PC anytime soon, though. Booting a game is just the first step.

@Pirat_Nation UE is slowly turning into another USSR. I'm not an anti-communist. The USSR was just Red Fascism. You can see it, when Putin's soldiers are happily waving both flags of Russian Federation and USSR at the same time during their war (sorry, "Special Military Operation") in Ukraine.
