So James Gunn fired Henry Cavill because he was "too old" to play Superman, lied about Ben Affleck directing for the DCU, lied to Gal Gadot about her role as Wonder Woman, kept his Peacemaker crew, butchered The Flash and hired all his friends from Marvel.

The reason fans are against Gunn is because he got rid of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. If he had let these guys finish their stories off, even as Elseworld movies, more people would be willing to support the DCU. #SnyderVerse

So basically De Luca and Abdy tried to fix the mess of the DCEU, they brought Cavill and Affleck back to cameo in the 2023 slate to set up future movies for them. But Gunn was hired and wanted his own Superman so fired Cavill and removed the cameos from Flash then lied about it.

@ourmovienews Probably because Sean wrote a book about the Release the Snyder Cut movement and has expressed a lot of love for ZSJL at the time of release. Tbf, I haven't seen what Sean's done since then. I know he thinks the Netflix thing will never happen, but I saw it as typical skepticism.
