What matters to me: loving my family, keeping my home, serving my church, studying the Bible, writing in a way that honors Christ, living for the glory of God.
…and that even when we fail Him, “He abideth faithful.” May it also remind us to continually point those around us to look to, and to lean on, Him.
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
Psalms 118:8
Have you ever had your confidence shaken because someone you trusted failed you?
Have you ever had your confidence shaken because you failed someone who trusted you?
When our confidence in people is shaken, may it remind us that we have a God who can never fail us…

@BrennansPen What I have observed in almost 30 years of ministry is that most parents are not just satisfied, but prefer good kids to godly kids. Tragic.
In due season, my friend, you will reap if you faint not.
Just as morning follows night, & reaping follows sowing, so joy follows tears for those who trust in God.
Ps. 126:6
#suffering#joy#sowingandreaping
Are you in a time of tears, seeking to please & serve the Lord, yet dealing with suffering or sorrow?
Don’t lose hope! Keep trusting the Lord. He sees and saves each tear.
Perhaps your tears are the very things God is using to water the seed you have sown.

“…consider Him, rejected by His own,
Consider Him who suffered all alone,
A kiss betrayed our precious Lord,
When scorned He answered not a word,
The suffering of the moment seems to dim
When you consider Him.”
N.L.
Any suffering or scorn we may endure now will seem as nothing when we see Him one day.
“And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” (1 Pet. 5:4)

People who refuse to be afraid are a threat to those whose power is based in fear. Refusing to cower lessens their ability to control.
Fear & trust God. Refuse to live in fear of anything else. God has not given His children the spirit of fear, but of power, love & a sound mind.

What a powerful reminder in this brief verse!
We are so prone to forget all the amazing things God has done for us. It is good to daily remember God's goodness, and all His benefits.
Praise Him today!
May the Lord help us to desire to “walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing...” (Col. 2:10a), and not to exploit or abuse the mercy of God.
“They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.” (Jonah 2:8)

A Thread…
"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not." (Lam. 3:22)
When we do not see immediate consequences for sin, it is easy to assume that what we are doing isn’t all that bad.

This is sad in a general sense, but it is shameful for those of us who claim to be God’s children.
God is merciful and longsuffering, but He never approves sin. His goodness should lead us to repentance for sin, not to indulgence in it. (Rom. 2:4)
