however chill or not chill I seem now, I was way way more strict as a kid. I was in kindergarten avoiding kids who said “libary” because I thought they were incurably stupid
@dialupready@ShahanaFromBK@nevona@grsarry she’s saying the owner decided this it wasn’t enforced or imposed on them which is disappointing and troubling imo, i don’t really want to support a supposed queer bar that privileges the interests of gentrifiers over its own community, during pride in this climate no less
@nevona after getting pushback from the “wonderful community” they supposedly love so much they turned off comments and are hiding comments on their most recent post
wow. gingers (one of the only remaining lesbian bars in brooklyn) is cancelling their pride events due to noise complaints from their park slope neighbors. unreal.
As openly gay Romani singer Ibolya Oláh began performing her anthem “Magyarország,” the cordons on Kossuth Square opened. The crowd surged forward, many walking across the reflecting pool.
Beautiful symbolism of a new era of hope.

@dlondonwortel i went to paterson recently and literally every single pedestrian crossing sign was broken. and the streets were angled so you couldn’t easily see the traffic light of the cross street. if you’ve ever wanted to play frogger in real life, i’d start there.
Tényleg ránk figyelt minden demokrácia a világban. Lehettünk volna elrettentő példa, lehettünk volna a figyelmeztetés, hogy milyen utat kell elkerülni.
A remény szimbólumai lettünk helyette.
Most tényleg jó a világban magyarnak lenni.
Americans quick to shriek that Magyar is a conservative might want to sit this one out and just let Hungarians celebrate tonight. Promise you Hungarians from the LGBTQ community who voted for Magyar know, and have understood opposition politics against autocracy better than you.
so surreal to be in nyc where no one knows i’m having the best day of my life, szeretlek magyarország, örökké a szívemben élsz ❤️ my family left hungary when they had no hope for the future and im so glad others will be spared from this painful decision: most maradhatsz :)
When I hear my fellow citizens say that our democracy has died or that there’s no point in continuing the fight, I’d ask them to consider that the people of Hungary never gave up hope. Even after 15 years of authoritarianism. Thinking of the people of Hungary today.
