@Bingbongbo10475@ajsrugby Exactly!
Rugby has not foothold in this country no more. It's finished. There are really only two relevant domestic codes, NRL and AFL. Nothing gets close to those two.
@Roundhd101@tajfballcentral True, I did jast read now that the Super League crowds have grown significantly. There are still financial difficulties, and it looks like the comp is more at a cross roads than in decline. There is some partnership deal being delayed with the NRL.
@Roundhd101@tajfballcentral It's odd to me that it's not more popular, because growing up I've watched Super League and often thought it was a good product. It's also a good TV sport. And yea I think as an alternative to football it fits well.
@Roundhd101@tajfballcentral But it's always been Football (soccer) first over there, and everything else is well behind. Isn't Super League still quite popular in the North of England?
@Roundhd101@tajfballcentral England had some really good players in that team, i think at least three of them in the Grand Final. Herbie F, Savalla, D Young, Victor R, Max King, Harry S.
@Roundhd101@tajfballcentral England aren't poor, Tonga are just very solid, large pack. But yes they would get murdered by Aus and NZ. Samoa also appears to be better than Tonga
@WiganFans_RL@r0land0__ Depends where in Aus, Rugby League is very popular in NSW and Qld, which are heavily populated states compared to the rest of Aus. No other comp is getting close to NRL or AFL down this way.
@TaylorDanRW@England_RL England can't beat Tonga, Samoa NZ or Aus who's players play in the NRL. Australia beat England 3-0 last year. You also should recognise that at least 6 of the Tongans have played State of Origin, which is elite level, they are hardened. Origin is more intense than international
@TaylorDanRW@England_RL If your referring to the World Club Challenge, this is a very poor measure to use, I'd avoid using it unless you want to decieve yourself. People down here don't even watch it nor do they take it seriously.
@TaylorDanRW@England_RL Don't think England are playing disjointed, Tonga are just defending well. Most of the Tongan squad are made up of top NRL players, so it won't be easy.
