Every team gets transfers wrong. City spent £100m on Jack Grealish. There are a whole list for United and Chelsea. Liverpool and Nunez. It happens.

Is Kai Havertz worth £65million. No. But Mikel Arteta has wanted a number of other forwards which the club haven’t got over the line.

Blame the manager all you want, but there’s only so much he can do. The club HAVE to back him over the next 18 days otherwise this season is over and that’s on the owners. Mikel Arteta was crying out for help in his press conference before the match and tonight couldn’t have proved him right anymore.

I honestly believe Mikel Arteta is more likely to walk at the end of the season if he isn’t backed, than be sacked. He’s clearly going to go on and be one of the best managers in the world. If the club don’t back him, I will never forgive them.
