On 5 June 2026, to mark World Environment Day, Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, announced its commitment under the Prime Minister’s 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. The Authority has taken responsibility for planting 6 lakhs trees in an organised manner, setting this as its annual target. Every worker, employee, and officer of the Port Authority has also pledged to plant at least ten saplings personally, reinforcing the collective responsibility..."

🏆 DPA, Kandla received the Sagar Aankalan Award from Shri Sarbanada Sonowal, Hon'ble Minister (Ports, Shipping and Waterways) as best performing port under category "Handling of Container Cargo – Less than 0.5 Million TEUs" in FY 2024-25.

Award was received by Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS, Dy. Chairman at Mumbai. The recognition reflects DPA’s continued pursuit of operational excellence.

DPA Kandla observes National Fire Service Week from 14th to 20th April, paying homage to the brave fire personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Mock Drill was conducted at Admin Building DPA, in the presence of Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS, Dy. Chairman. During the week, DPA’s Fire Brigade is conducting fire safety awareness programmes, mock drills, demonstrations and training sessions across various locations. The observance is being carried out under the slogan: “Safe Schools, Safe Hospitals, and a Fire Safety-Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention.”

#WATCH | Gujarat: On Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, crossing 160 million tonnes of cargo handling, Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, DPA, says, "Kandla Port has set a new benchmark this year. We have crossed 160 million metric tons (of cargo handling) in the financial year of 2025-26. This is the highest in the history of India's major ports... We have exceeded the target set by the ministry... We will continue to grow."
