After 10 years of injuring my back in the military and two years of fighting for a treatment, surgery date is set.
Apparently had herniated a disc so long ago that turned into degenerated disc in my lower back.
Bit of a getting used to it moments with this new vehicle. Went from sedan to truck, gas to hybrid, stick shift to dial shift, and damn did I turn off auto brights so fast when I noticed.
So far the biggest challenge of this move, aside from the physical and mental exhaustion, is going to a smaller kitchen with less storage.
Looks like I'll be swinging by the store for some shelves.
Welp, vet advise for Dudley is a week's rest, plenty of water, and aspirin. Broke the dog on the first hike. After he's rested, we'll slowly build ourselves up to go further. Means my planned hiking trip be cancelled. Maybe springtime? Dude is getting a kings treatment right now.
Been kinda sick for a couple of days so had to delay going to go camping. Might only do a couple of states instead of the full 6 I had planned originally. Rather be able to hit some of the advanced trails then struggling to breath.
Planning on hitting at least 5 trails in 5 states. Keep getting recommendations for spots in Oregon and Washington so I'm conflicted which state I should cap my road trip on.
Lots of future planning and self care this weekend. Looked around and realized I've been coasting without maintaining so time to get off my ass and put in some work.
