I am a resident of Meera Nagar, Udaipur. It's a well-developed colony in the smart city of Udaipur. After so many years, we still do not have basic water connections. Every summer, we have to struggle for something as fundamental as water. Our local authorities has sanctioned the budget over a year ago, yet there has been zero progress on the ground. We have done multiple complaints, visits, and follow-ups but no resolution so far. The Government of India is running initiatives like the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure water access to every household, why are citizens in a smart city like Udaipur still deprived of such a basic necessity? If this is the condition in a developed urban colony, what would be the situation in rural areas.
