Walmart Canada applied #blockchain to solve payment disputes with its 70 third-party freight carriers. The system has allowed the company to automate the freight #payment process and reduce the time it takes to resolve disputes from weeks to hours.💵⌛

The company also launched a traceability platform in their Chinese stores to increase food traceability and trust. They track the movement of many food items from farms to processing facilities and finally to retail stores in #China.🛤️🏪

That is all good, but how does Walmart benefit from it? 💭

Across a shipment’s journey, @WalmartCanada can track farm origin, batch number, factory and processing data, expiration dates, storage temperatures, and shipping details using blockchain #technology.⛓️📅

By entering a shipment’s six-digit “lot” number in a web portal, an employee at #Walmart can pull all this information within two seconds.🔥
