Our team from the Medicaid Cancer Foundation attended the African Medical Centre of Excellence Health Forum on February 21, 2023.

Among the distinguished guests were the Minister of Health Prof. Ali Pate, President Benedict Oramah and our CEO, Her Excellency Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu. The AMCE, in collaboration with King’s College Hospital London and the University of Wisconsin, aims to establish a top-tier tertiary center in Abuja.

This medical facility, specializing in Hematology, Oncology, and Cardiology, will introduce cutting-edge technology such as a PET CT Scan and 2 LINAC machines, revolutionizing cancer care in Nigeria while providing training for healthcare professionals, fostering expertise and development in the region.

Medicaid Cancer Foundation is well-positioned to partner with AMCE, leveraging our expertise and knowledge of the cancer landscape to improve cancer care in Nigeria and Africa.

Together, we are forging a path towards a healthier and brighter future!

4th March is the International HPV Vaccination awareness day and the Technical Office on cancer awareness and advocacy of the Nigerian Medical Students Association chooses to have the “Theme - Vision24-100”

Our vision is to get 100 and more persons vaccinated by the end of 2024 by:
- visit to the gynaecologic clinic where our students would be on their white coats and teach the women about HPV and the need for vaccination.
- Visit to secondary schools to create awareness

Breaking Barriers for Cancer Care!

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome @Roche International’s African Head, Mr Maturin Tchoumi @Tchoumim alongside other distinguished representatives at our facility.

Our MD/CEO, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, and Dr. Florence Ajimobi, representing First Ladies Against Cancer @FlacNigeria , were also present to receive them.

Prioritizing Access:
Our commitment ensures vital drugs reach those in need. Emphasis were made on sustainable solutions for improved drug availability, enhancing cancer care accessibility. We explored strategies to boost screening and drug availability, working towards inclusive healthcare.

We also took our guests on a tour of our MEDICAID facility.

We are excited about our existing partnership with Roche through our #PACE program (Patient Access to Cancer Care), we aim to strengthen it and strategize for broader accessibility.
