Finally, justice?
After nearly a year of relentless legal battles, the Press Council of Nepal has blacklisted The Himalayan Times for baseless news. While this is a step forward, the journey has been incredibly taxing.
I welcome this judgement, which comes after more than 17 articles of misinformation were published where my team were never given a right of reply.
The Nepal Press Council launched an investigation into this campaign of fake news last autumn and their judgement as of this week is to black list The Himalayan Times and to remove Government funded advertising. This is a significant and important judgement. I thank the Press Council for looking into this so throughly.
Fake news has deeply affected my life, my family, and my business. Justice is a complex concept, especially when the damage has already been done.
Misinformation can lead to tragic consequences, even costing innocent lives, yet it appears that media outlets face no real accountability. If murder has consequences, why doesn’t character assassination?
These stories were published alongside a damaging piece in the New York Times. For those who don’t know the full story, I have given an in-depth interview with an investigative journalist, and I encourage you to listen to the podcast here:
https://t.co/XyMBF3Z8HN
There should be accountability in journalism. Free speech should not mean free rein to destroy lives. Let’s stand up for truth and integrity in media.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to those who have loved and supported me through this journey. As a man of integrity, shaped by my heritage and the UK special forces, my values remain unshaken. Your support means everything.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting General Irfan, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, today. We had a detailed and productive conversation covering a wide range of topics close to my heart.
Pakistan is my second home, and I have always deeply loved its mountains and community. I've had the privilege of supporting Pakistani mountaineers in the past, and we are now looking to take this further. Our discussion focused on the future growth of the climbing community, specifically the training of high-altitude porters and climbers, and how we can better equip them with the right kit and equipment.
I remain committed to supporting and advocating for this incredible community. Looking forward to what we can achieve collectively.

WOW. Time flies so quickly. 23 years ago. First, I joined the Brigade of Gurkhas in the British Army. From there, being the first Gurkha ever to pass the selection for SBS, elite UKSF, in 200 years of Gurkhas serving the British military.
On this Armed Forces Day, I reflect on a journey that has been nothing less than inspiring. My 16 years in the British military, and 10 years within the SBS/UKSF, taught me so much. It helped me build a very strong, fundamental base of who I am today.
Remember: wherever you go, whatever you do, if your base is not strong, you will collapse. So, having that base established from the world’s number one special forces unit what more could I ask for?
Since I joined the British military, the war kicked off. And pretty much my whole career in the British military was spent on war and conflict, until I left the forces in 2019.
After serving 16 years, I decided to take a completely different path. Going even bigger, I took on this groundbreaking project that the world at that time had thought impossible.
And of course, the journey continues. Today, I hold the most 8,000-metre summits i.e 56 of them: 28 without oxygen. Both the highest. And inspiring many along the way. I spent years in the darkest places of conflict. Today, I choose a different mission. To be a voice for peace.
What the Gurkhas and the special forces have taught me is invaluable. The discipline. The mindset. That will of never giving up; Understanding the bigger picture and always being true to yourself.
I saw firsthand the impact of a small elite group delivering maximum effect. Being able to learn everything from meticulous planning to strategic games. And most importantly, no excuses. Only delivery matters🤜🏽💥.
I didn’t just learn that success is not a coincidence. I saw it. I lived it. I breathed it. The unrelenting pursuit of excellence. Strength through humility. Speed, aggression, and surprise. The quiet professional who lets actions speak. That code, success is never a coincidence, is built on integrity. Build everything around that.
To all who serve, and have served, this day is for you.
Happy Armed Forces Day 🇬🇧

Last month, the @NimsdaiStore launched Version 2 of the Ultimate Nimsdai Summit Suit. For me personally, this was a great moment. Having climbed 56x 8000m peaks, the summit suit is my survival, it protects me from the elements and allows me to focus on the expedition, not the conditions.
Over the years, I have worn countless summit suits. I’ve been cold. I have experienced unnecessary features. I’ve learnt what works and, more importantly, what doesn’t. That’s why it was so important for me to create a suit that performs in the toughest environments on Earth.
Every expedition teaches me something. Every climb gives me feedback that no lab ever could. That’s why every version is stronger than the last. The Summit Suit wasn’t designed behind a desk. It was developed in the mountains, tested in extreme altitude, freezing temperatures and relentless conditions; the places where failure isn’t an option.
This season alone, I have worn the suit during my Everest - Lhotse speed record. @Tejan.g wore it complete his 14 Peaks and Seven summits record so as @mingma_david_sherpa , Saudi Prince, @antmiddleton @ksenia_tsaritsina @geri__moore , @razvan_barsan , Tommie and many @EliteExped clients achieved their own impossible wearing the suit.
So whilst their determination, grit and will power got them to the summit. It was a proud moment to see the extraordinary things in the suit which started as just an idea. But trust me, we never stop learning, we never stop evolving as Impossible is Possible so watch this space.

17 days. 6 countries. Countless miles 🤙🏽
It’s been absolutely full on, even at sea level; from delivering multiple cooperate motivational talks (Canada/Montreal being the furthest), catching up with the team across different time zones, to back-to-back business meetings… non-stop.
But I love it. This is what gets me going. Delivering, moving, building — I wouldn’t have it any other way.
And now, finally en route to Pakistan. 🇵🇰
Pakistan has always felt like my second home when it comes to the mountains. Nepal will forever be my first home, but Pakistan holds something special too. From leading the first winter ascent of K2 without oxygen, to summiting all top five 8,000m peaks without oxygen while both guiding and leading the entire expedition: and the list goes on. I love climbing here as I have so much amazing experiences and memories.
Two mountains to climb this season: G2 and Broad Peak. Stay tuned for more updates. 🤜🏽💥

A huge congratulations to my brother, His Royal Highness Mohammed Al Saud, for becoming the youngest Arab to climb the Seven Summits.
It wasn’t long ago, I remember our first one-to-one private climb on Elbrus. I still remember we managed to smash that. You did so well with learning the basic fundamental skills, and your natural ability to acclimatise quickly was impressive to witness.
From that point of climbing together with @eliteexped, from Carstensz Pyramid and Kilimanjaro to Mount Vinson in Antarctica, then to Aconcagua, then to Everest, and all the way to Denali — it’s been an amazing journey to witness not only how you have accomplished this, but also how you have improved from the moment I first saw you on your very first mountain. I’m super, super impressed.
I hope you take this experience further in your life — to achieve bigger, to climb bigger mountains of your own challenges. As we know, we all have our own mountains in life to climb. And this journey will, of course, help with that.
So once again, my dear brother, I wish you a huge congratulations, and I just want to tell you that I’m super proud of you. And equally, from the side of the mountain and climbing community, to have people like you joining the industry is a big thing — it’s a sign of the industry’s growth. So thank you for helping us with that.
Ofc my brother is wearing the one and only @nimsdaistore 🤙🏽

A huge shout-out to @middleton_gm : the youngest Brit to summit Mount Everest at the age of 17 🤜🏽💥
Gabriel, it’s been so amazing to see you from the day you were born, watching you grow, and now achieving something this incredible at such a young age.
I’m a very good friend; practically a brother ; to your father @antmiddleton . Thinking back, I remember around 17 years ago when you were just a little boy, visiting you and the family. I still remember that visit; your dad cooked us the best English breakfast ever at his house. From that moment, all the way through my career in the Special Forces and then out in civilian street, I have always been part of the family. And now, to see you accomplish this incredible feat; all I can say is a huge congratulations and well done.
I appreciate you, and thank you for staying super disciplined during the Everest climbing season and for that, you have my respect. Your humility and your humour came across so well throughout the whole climbing season on Everest, and it was really good to witness that. Of course, there’s so much more to do from here: a lot to learn, a lot to achieve as you grow.
And as you know, Uncle Nims will always be there whenever you need. But again, I’m so very proud of you. it’s been amazing to see you grow and to witness what you just have achieved. To my brother Ant and Emily; a big thank you for bringing Gabriel up the way you have. You guys have played a huge role in his achievement and who he is today.
Gabriel; make sure you get all those good grades at university, good luck with the rugby as well, and here’s to a bright future.

As the founder of Elite Exped, I am incredibly proud to announce that our Director, Tejan Gurung (TJ), has become the youngest person to complete both the 14 Peaks and the Seven Summits.
This historic milestone was achieved following his recent summit of Denali on 19th of June 2026, the final peak required to complete the Seven Summits challenge. Having already completed all 14 of the world’s 8000m peaks in 2024, TJ has now become a part of mountaineering history with this extraordinary accomplishment.
For those who have climbed with TJ, you will know that this achievement is about far more than records. It reflects the character, leadership, and dedication that he brings to every expedition. Over the years, he has successfully led numerous expeditions with Elite Exped, helping climbers from around the world achieve their dreams and reach summits they once thought impossible.
I am incredibly proud that our team is fortunate enough to have a person like TJ. His commitment to his clients, his teammates, and the mountains is something truly special. He continues to inspire not only the next generation of climbers but also many of us within the mountaineering community.
TJ, thank you for your leadership, your professionalism, and your unwavering dedication to helping others succeed. Your achievements are remarkable, but the impact you have had on people is even greater.
On behalf of the entire @eliteexped family, congratulations once again on this historic milestone. We are proud of you, grateful for everything you do, and excited to see what the future holds.

At 8000m, the world goes silent. No noise from the crowd, no opinions from the doubters. Just your heartbeat against a sky and big mountains that don’t care if you make it or not. This was my 28th summit of 8000m without oxygen. 56 total 8000m ascents.
People ask me, “Nimsdai, why do you keep going into the death zone?”
Because that’s where I find the truth and where I’m alive the most. Down there in the comfort zone, everyone has something to say, whether you’re qualified or not. Up here, in the thin air, you meet yourself. No masks. No excuses.
With bigger accomplishments comes bigger problems, especially when you’re the trailblazer and neither you are a westerner nor a Sherpa. And yes, none of it came without a cost. I’ve faced problems that tried to bury me. People who tried to pull me down. So-called friends became the biggest enemies. Let me put it this way: no strangers were badmouthing me. It was all those who used to be my friends once. They couldn’t see me climbing the ladders. Jealousy and envy got in the way of goodwill. They thought I was finished, but of course, the mountains and myself had other plans. I’m a man who comes with integrity, and giving up has never been in my blood; nor will it ever be. But thanks to all these too , now all the garbages are off and it’s always better know , who’s who ;) .
“You will never reach any summits in life if you don’t keep moving.”
Let me say it louder for the ones suffering in silence.
Your mountain might not be 8000m. It might be grief. It might be failure, betrayal or It might be the weight of the entire world on your shoulders.
But the rule doesn’t change.
One breath. One step. Keep moving.
This summit is dedicated to YOU. The fighters. The dreamers. The ones who get knocked down and stand up again.
Giving up is not in the blood.

Guys, from the summit of Lhotse, having just completed my speed record, I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your support from the very beginning. Without you, none of this would have been possible, so thank you.
But remember this: even when you’re tired, struggling, and feel like giving up, keep going. You are capable of achieving what others may think is impossible. You have the power to break through your own barriers, push beyond your limits, and achieve your own personal greatness. Never stop believing in yourself.
Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion.

Huge congratulations to @nikolkovalchukofficial — the first Russian woman to summit Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen. 🏔️
This wasn’t just another climb. This was her first attempt on Everest. No oxygen. 8,848 meters.
Everest is crowded — more climbers mean more chances of getting sick. There’s the Khumbu Cough, which has no cure except leaving the mountain for weeks. The icefall might not be fixed on time. Weather can turn in minutes. Logistics above Camp 2 are a nightmare. Acclimatization is a battle.
So we made a choice: one rotation only. One push. Minimize the risk. Trust the preparation.
And Nikol did it.
What I admire most? She’s not here to prove she’s better than anyone. She just listens. She trains harder than almost anyone I know. And when experts give advice, she doesn’t let ego get in the way — she trusts it. That made everything easier for both of us.
Climbing without oxygen isn’t about being superhuman. It’s about unlearning the habit of relying on it. Most climbers get used to that extra gas. Letting go of that crutch? That takes patience, humility, and belief.
For Nikol, this was only her second mountain without O₂. And Everest — the highest — is also the hardest.
We’ve shared 14 peaks, the 7 summits, the South Pole, Manaslu without O2, and now Everest. Not because we’re special. Because we showed up, listened, and refused to give up.
Nikol — your children, your family, your loved ones must be so proud. But more than that — you’ve reminded the rest of us what’s possible when we stay humble and work hard.
Keep inspiring. We’re all watching. 🙌🙏🏽

No Oxygen. No Sleep. No Limits! The Pain Was the Prize.
No oxygen. 24 extra hours at Camp 4 , meaning 2 days at Death Zone. Body breaking down. Weather turned on the 26th and I’m managing a whole team of exclusive and VIP expedition as always leading from the front . No sleep, Checking on every client. Making sure they’re fed, they’re ready, they’re safe. That comes first. Always.
Then the summit push. 18 hours with Nikol to the top of the world without oxygen . I’m the first one moving, looking after clients at camp 4/8000m , getting them all ready and last one resting. Behind the scenes, non-stop.
Job done but not for me!
I needed to push past the pain barrier. Not for a medal. Not for a post. For me. To understand and to remind myself AGAIN what happens when your body is screaming and your mind takes the wheel.
So I went for the speed record. Summit of Everest to summit of Lhotse.
I’m the only person in the world to climb Everest and Lhotse back-to-back without oxygen. The previous record was my own, around 25 hours, set while fully guiding.
Let’s go!
And then the snow came. Fresh. Deep. No trail. No footsteps. Trailblazing every single step. Digging ropes out of fresh powder. Each move like fighting gravity itself. The mountain doesn’t care. It just throws more.
But quitting? That’s never been in my DNA.
13 hours 42 minutes. A new world record. Everest to Lhotse.
I didn’t just break the record. I destroyed my own.
But the record was just a side effect. The real prize was the pain. The discomfort. Finding comfort in chaos. Testing the edges of what’s humanly possible.
14 peaks. Winter K2 without oxygen. Speed ascents of 14 peaks without oxygen, all while leading expeditions. All of it, while guiding. This isn’t ego. This is purpose!
This one of for all of those who have lived me and supported me through and through ❤️

Happy Everest Day : my recent Everest summit marks my 54th 8000m summit in total 🙌🏽🙏🏽
Weather played up on the 26th, so we had to plan for the 27th — meaning an extra 24 hours’ worth of mission-essential supplies such as oxygen, cooking systems, food, and maintaining the morale of the team.
As expedition leader, as always ; i was the first one out of the tent, ensuring all climbers were fed , geared up and the Sherpa crew were ready. Everyone summited with our second group of 28 total team members and Nikol summited without oxygen. It was long hours’ summit push for us without oxygen.
This marks my 54th 8,000m summit. Summited Everest on 27th May 2026 without O2 ✔️
Stay tuned for next update 🤜🏽💥

So far, all is good (family and loved ones, no need to worry — as I’m leading this group myself from the front, i.e., with them, not messing about either from base camp or Kathmandu).
