@BreerHabbit@PaulyE1996@ATL_Enthusiast No he hasn’t and Mahomes has had more passes behind the line of scrimmage than any other QB in the last three years so are you going to tell everyone he sucks?
@EconDundas@jimiuorio I have some ideas.
1. Reduce degree requirements to actual required classes.
2. If going into a public service(teachers etc), debt can be forgiven after a specific amount of years of service.
3. Remove degree requirements for jobs that dont actually require degrees.
@EconDundas@jimiuorio I agree they can automate but we aren't there yet for doctors.
The main issue with using our "surplus hands" in the capcity you speak of is it makes them slaves to their debt or it makes other people responsible for it. They are also angry they can't get a high paying job.
@riwawaz The issue is people want to go to school for 4-6 years at 50-80k a year for a job that only makes 50k a year. Then they want their poor financial decision to be paid for by the tax payer because they don't make enough.
Maybe take your time, go to Community College and earn it.
@Gr33nOnions In a high trust society, nothing like this needs to be locked up. Pretty simple. Thats why in some places in the US, people don't even lock their cars.
In others, they have to lock their wheels in addition to their doors.
@realtedfatsman@sulsurv1vor@LOsaParks The only thing I will say would be an exception is kids under 18 as they cannot provide for themselves. They should be given food though, not a credit card or anything else. It should also only be able to be used on healthy, good foods not junk.
@realtedfatsman@sulsurv1vor@LOsaParks Who the hell uses AI to respond on twitter?
Just because the government subsidizes some industries or fields doesn't mean it is appropriate or good for everything.
Honestly I don't think the government should be involved in any kind of welfare or subsidization
@JackDunkins01 Maybe the cost of education would come down as a result as well. There is direct correlation between cost of college and the involvement of the government. Same with healthcare.
@EconDundas@jimiuorio Have you ever thought that the majority of college degrees aren't actually needed and that work experience would be 10x more beneficial if college wasn't a "requirement" for jobs for no reason?
Not talking about engineering, doctors etc. but who needs a communications degreee...
