Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says the company decided to drop Copilot for Gaming on consoles because players simply weren’t interested in it.
Speaking about Xbox’s AI plans, Sharma said, “our console players aren’t excited by that.” She explained that while AI can be useful in areas like GPU upscaling and other technical improvements, “we have to make sure it’s solving a problem if we put it out there for gaming.”
Copilot for Gaming was originally pitched as an AI assistant that could help players with tips
Xbox has now shifted its focus toward using AI to improve games and performance rather than adding a copilot chatbot
