The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the revised budget for the Gaimukh-Fountain twin-tunnel project along with an elevated corridor from Fountain Hotel to Bhayander.

This tunnel project was previously tendered last year and despite being the lowest bidder, Larsen and Toubro wasn't awarded this project. L&T went to Bombay High Court against this decision from MMRDA. The Court ruled in L&T's favour after which, the tender was cancelled.

The under-construction Thane Coastal Road will seamlessly connect with this tunnel at Gaimukh thereby creating a fast traffic-free corridor right from Kharegaon to Fountain Hotel. This will create an alternative route to the overloaded Ghodbunder road.

These 2 lines, coupled with the existing Line 1, will create a seamless metro corridor from Sagar Sangam to Navi Mumbai International Airport Eastern entrance.

Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) has applied for environmental clearance for 98.73 km 4 lane access-controlled greenfield Ujjain-Jaora Expressway.

Meanwhile, bidding process for this expressway has already completed with LLC Volgadorstroy emerging as the L1 bidder with a ₹2080 Cr bid.

This expressway will be MPRDC's (Madhya Pradesh state government's) first self-built expressway.

The Dharamtar Creek bridge connecting Karanja with Revas has reached 27% completion milestone.

Afcons Infrastructure is working on this project with a deadline of 30 months.

The total project length, including connecting roads, is 10.65 km, while the actual bridge spans around 2 km.

This bridge will prove to be a gamechanger for Alibaug since it is just around 11 km from Atal Setu's Chirle interchange.

The travel time from South Mumbai to Alibaug will come down to just 1 hour 15 minutes from the current 2.5 hours once this bridge is ready!

The upcoming Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad High Speed Rail Corridor will have the following stations:

As mentioned above, the Pune high speed rail station will be located at Loni, exactly where the bullet train alignment crosses the Pune-Solapur National Highway.

However, metro connectivity to Loni Kalbhor has already been approved by Maharashtra Government (pending Central Government approval), and this will be ready by the time the Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad High Speed Rail gets going. So reaching the bullet train station from Pune City won't be difficult.

👉 Total: 856 km

Opposition to this project is there only in 3-4 districts of Western Maharashtra. In all other districts where there is no opposition, the Government of Maharashtra should not waste any time and acquire land and proceed to tendering as quickly as possible to get the project going on ground.

Once people start receiving compensation payouts and actual construction begins, many more land owners, who are currently opposing the project, will give consent, looking at the benefits.

Construction could be done very quickly in Vidarbha and Marathwada as the terrain is pretty flat. GoM should expedite the acquisition and tendering processes in these districts.

Even if the expressway section from its starting point in Wardha district to Solapur district is constructed in the next 3 to 4 years, it will start benefiting Vidarbha and Marathwada regions hugely.

The Government of Maharashtra has started issuing Section 18 land acquisition notices in Wardha and Yavatmal districts for the upcoming Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway.

At the same time, MSRDC has started 'Shaktipeeth Samvad Yatra', where MSRDC and related administrative officials are interacting with the affected land owners face-to-face in their villages to discuss the benefits of Shaktipeeth Expressway as well as to understand the land owners' concerns.

This dialogue is aimed to create awareness and the first leg of this Yatra was attended by Marathi actor Bharat Ganeshpure, along with farmers who were affected and subsequently experienced transperant compensation settlement process while building Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway.

Administrative processes for land acquisition of Shamli-Gorakhpur Expressway Phase 1 have begun in full swing in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The Phase 1 will stretch 348 km from Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and Ambala-Shamli Expressway junction near Shamli to Powayan near Shahjahanpur.

• Phase 1: Yellow line (348.184 km)
• Phase 2: Red line (391.77 km)
👉 Total length: 739.95

This 6-lane expressway will be completely access-controlled.

This expressway will reduce the travel time between Shamli and Gorakhpur to just 7.5 hours, which currently takes around 12 hours.

Also, this expressway will be directly connected to the Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway, thereby creating a seamless access-controlled expressway link.
