The Georgia GOP is corrupt to the core.
An independent investigation found that Derek Dooley — the clown running to unseat Jon Ossoff — had family members receive millions in taxpayer-funded state business, then donated $100K+ to Brian Kemp's PAC, which boosted Dooley's Senate campaign.
State Rep. Anne Allen Westbrook: "This raises unmistakable indications of corruption and urgent concerns of pay-to-play politics, and Dooley and Kemp have no shame in any of this."
If you pitched this as a screenplay, every studio would reject it for being too on-the-nose.
Fernando Mendoza was a 2-star recruit ranked 2,149th in his high school class. Zero FBS scholarship offers. Not one. He walked on at Cal, fought for a starting job, transferred to Indiana for his senior year, then led them to 16-0 and the first national title in school history. Heisman, Walter Camp, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, Manning, Big Ten MVP. 41 TDs, 72% completion, 8-to-0 TD-to-INT ratio in the playoffs.
The Raiders took him #1 overall Thursday night. $54.56M fully guaranteed. Only the third player ever to win the Heisman, win a national championship, and go first overall the next spring. Burrow. Newton. Mendoza.
Then he skipped Pittsburgh.
The biggest stage in football, the moment every kid imagines from the second they pick up a ball, and Fernando watched the call from his living room in Florida because his mom Elsa is in a wheelchair and the travel is hard for her. She was diagnosed with MS when he was 4. She wrote a letter to her sons in The Players Tribune in 2015 promising the disease "won't affect us in the ways that matter."
The part nobody talks about: while every other top pick was on stage, Fernando announced the Mendoza Family Fund the same day. $500K personal donation to the National MS Society. Committed to raising $1M over three years. He hasn't taken an NFL snap and he's already given more to a cause than most players donate in a full career.
He and his brother Alberto have already raised $360K through the Mendoza Bros. Burger at BuffaLouie's in Bloomington. At Christmas, he handed four families dealing with MS $10,000 each for an Adidas shopping spree.
Both his parents are children of Cuban refugees who fled Castro. His dad rowed at Brown, won a Junior World Championship in 1987, and played high school football in Miami next to a teammate named Mario Cristobal. Fernando beat his dad's old teammate in the national championship game in January.
Every athlete talks about playing for their family. Fernando actually did it.
🧵Yesterday, a Vance-aligned group called the Bull Moose Project posted this viral picture of an old farmhouse on sprawling acreage, purporting to illustrate how once-common rural housing became unaffordable in the United States.
I did some digging into the photo...
A Swiss photographer named Tobias Messereli captured this amazing picture of the sun setting perfectly behind a tree. It’s absolutely spectacular!

This is my FAVORITE memory of Frankie Beverly. It’s 4 am on April 8, 2017 on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise. Frankie was sitting in the corner with other members of Maze and was about to head to his room. Then the DJ puts on “Before I Let Go.” I was filming some other stuff and handed someone my camera to capture this amazing memory. It was 🔥. Frankie was my main man! Video credit: Roland S. 🚨 UNITED PASSENGER CATCHES INSANE NASA ROCKET LAUNCH FROM PLANE WINDOW — FLIGHT ATTENDANT LOSES IT MID-AIR
A United flight just turned into a front-row seat to history.
A woman captures the exact moment NASA’s Artemis II rocket launches… straight from her window at 30,000 feet.
And then you hear the flight attendant:
“15 years of flying… I’ve been praying to see something like this.”
• Rocket blasting through the clouds
• Crew calling it a “once in a lifetime” moment
He said he flew to Florida multiple times just to see a launch…
Canceled. Every time.
And then this happens midair.
What are the chances you randomly look out your window… and see history taking off?
🚨 Do you understand what just happened at the Pentagon..
Stop scrolling, yall need to read this
the official who kicked Anthropic out of Pentagon contracts.. the same guy who got them labelled a "supply chain risk".. the first American AI company EVER blacklisted by its own military..
has a multimillion-dollar stake in Anthropic's direct competitor.. and owns shares in other AI and robotics companies that do business with the Pentagon..
this is the same Pentagon where Hegseth's broker tried to buy defence stocks before the Iran war started.. the same Pentagon that just rebranded itself the "Department of War".. the same building that hands out $800 billion a year in contracts while telling you there's no money for healthcare..
> in 2003 Dick Cheney's Halliburton got $39.5 billion in Iraq contracts while he was still getting deferred compensation from the company.. nobody went to jail..
> in 2020 Pentagon officials were caught steering contracts to companies they had stakes in.. nobody went to jail..
> and now in 2026 a guy is literally deleting his competitor from the government's vendor list while holding shares in the replacement..
the Pentagon doesn't have a corruption problem.. the Pentagon IS a corruption problem.. and every few years they just get more obvious about it because they know nothing happens.
One of my favourite pieces in St Peter’s Square at the Vatican: a statue that first appears to be a beggar, transforming into an angel as you move around it - by Timothy Schmalz.
In a sane world, Hegseth would resign, Congress would hold immediate hearings and establish an investigation, and the US would come clean.
None of that is likely, so international mechanisms should kick in, including the ICC.
And Hegseth should probably talk to a lawyer.

Houston teacher was forced to resign because she took 2 unpaid days off to care for her sick newborn—having a baby used up all her PTO. And she needed a whole U-Haul to take her stuff with her while clearing out her classroom. 👀😳💔
Fall in love with your life. Wake up early, buy your favourite coffee, go for walks, eat good food, wear what makes you feel confident, and listen to your favourite music. Purposefully create these small moments that make you fall in love with your life.
Happy New Month.
Lindsey, this is the exact moment Americans start confusing moral superiority with operational planning.
Europe isn’t “soft”. Europe is allergic to your greatest export: regime change without a receipt.
You’re shaming France, Germany and the UK for not cheering “Operation Epic Fury” like it’s a Super Bowl ad. Meanwhile Europe is already carrying Ukraine, energy shocks, refugees, and the job of deterring Russia. But sure, let’s also bankroll your next Middle East sequel.
If this is about the Iranian people, answer one adult question:
What happens the day after the ayatollah falls?
Who runs Tehran. Who controls the IRGC stockpiles. Who stops the fragmentation. Who owns the reconstruction. Who takes the blowback.
So pick one:
Do you want to help Iranians, or do you want Europeans to applaud while Americans improvise another war?
If anyone missed that incredible tribute for D'Angelo and Roberta Flack by Ms. Lauryn Hill and a slew of other incredible musicians 🔥
