@charlesvine008@speakeasytlkshw@housh84 All Aiyuk had to do was show up, and the team would've released him to avoid a potential injury. He didn't do it, so they're going to reduce their financial burden as much as possible.
@SleeperWSH@grantcohn@BMitchandFinlay Campbell quit mid-game because Dre Greenlaw came back from injury. It had nothing to do with a “frat boyish culture.” Also, Aiyuk and Deebo used to hang out in Kyle’s office.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 I'll criticize the 49ers for doing dumb things. The way they handled Aiyuk isn't one of them. He's on some weird kamikaze mission.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 You can't just force the ball to one guy. Coverage dictates where the ball goes. I followed the negotiations. If he took it so personally, he shouldn't have signed the deal. Anyway, I'm counting down the days 49ers fans don't have to talk about him anymore.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 Come on, man. That's ridiculous. That's football. You act like he got frozen out of the offense when he had six targets. They "played games" by giving him $27M a year?
Not utilizing him would be benching him like Belichick did with Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl. Aiyuk played. He just didn't get a lot of catches. That happens sometimes in football, especially against an elite defense. Like I said, the trade thing was speculation. I've never heard anything concrete. I'm also skeptical because what value would he have coming off a torn ACL & MCL? And the 49ers aren't holding Aiyuk hostage. If he had reported, they would've released him.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 The thing they did "wrong" was signing BA when he clearly didn't want to be there. They should've just traded him to Cleveland or whatever tentative deal was on the table.
The Super Bowl thing is nonsense. He made some big catches in that game. Could he have been targeted more? Maybe, but that's a nitpick, not a sign of irrational behavior. I don't know about any alleged trade post-extension other than speculation. And I'd say voiding the contract was very rational considering he refuses to pick up the phone or show up. He has time to speed by the building, though.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 What have the 49ers done regarding BA that's irrational? They accommodated his trade request. We found a deal and he nixed it, then signed the contract he wanted. Then got hurt. Then blew off rehab. Then stopped answering everyone's phone calls, including friends.
@_jaydmv@CoachBroker@DCdude202 The 49ers aren't scared of BA. They'll release him as soon as he reports. If he doesn't report, they can keep taking his salary off the books. Everything BA has done is wildly irrational.
@HogfarmerChris The crazy part is ghosting friends and mentors, giving away tens of millions of dollars in guaranteed money, and sitting out an entire season coming off a serious knee injury. That's not to mention the Speed Racer videos and social media posts. He's destroying his market value.
