Petition to Reconsider Valko's Cancellation
Dear Love and Deepspace Development Team,
@Love_Deepspace
First of all, thank you for listening to your community and for being willing to communicate with us so openly. We appreciate the effort and sincerity behind your letter.
However, we respectfully ask you to reconsider the decision to cancel Valko.
Many of us have been waiting for the sixth Love Interest for a very long time. From the very beginning of the game, there have been six Stellactrum colors, leading many players to believe that one day all six would become complete Love Interests. Valko's reveal wasn't just an announcement—it was the fulfillment of something we had been anticipating for a long time.
After seeing his trailer, learning about his personality, and catching glimpses of his role in the story, we became genuinely excited to meet him. We want to experience his journey, discover his story, and see how he grows alongside the other Love Interests. Please don't take that opportunity away from us.
We understand that some members of the community had concerns, and we respect that every player deserves to be heard. At the same time, we hope you will also hear the voices of those of us who were excited for Valko and wanted to welcome him into Linkon City.
We believe that the work already poured into his character by your writers, artists, animators, composers, voice actors, and developers deserves to be experienced rather than abandoned. Valko is more than just a new banner—he represents years of creativity, passion, and dedication from your team.
If necessary, we would rather wait longer for his release than lose him forever. Delaying his debut or adjusting future plans would be far easier to accept than cancelling him completely.
Please reconsider this decision. Let Valko's story be told. Let us meet the sixth Love Interest we have been waiting for, and allow Linkon City to continue growing with all of its planned characters.
Thank you for taking the time to read our message and for considering the feelings of every part of your community.
With respect,
The Players Who Still Believe in Valko

Stop shaming people for using AC while you gobble up AI.
Air conditioning is literal life and death for many people, and wouldn’t even be necessary if not for climate change.
AI is destroying our environment and people are using it to “own” folks on the hazards of AC
“Titans lure power-hungry Tevinter magisters into the Fade to release them.” That line is heartbreaking. They’re (Titans) using what remains of the Evanuris, their dragons, anything that can still scream into the world, to say we are still here: trapped, forgotten, and desperate.
I keep seeing Adriana Smith "gave birth." She didn't "give birth," a fetus was cut from a corpse. She & her family were denied any dignity in her death. She was dehumanized, designated an incubator, & desecrated. By the very system that killed her.
Jason Schreier has released a scathing article regarding what went wrong during Dragon Age The Veilguard’s development:
Here are the highlights:
- BioWare was under immense pressure to succeed after the failure of Anthem and Andromeda with The Veilguard to stay afloat.
- Original concept (codename: Joplin) was a smaller, single-player experience.
- EA forced a pivot to a multiplayer live-service format (codename: Morrison) in 2017.
- Creative director Mike Laidlaw resigned over the shift.
- Matt Goldman replaced him and aimed for a lighter, “pulpy” tone fitting for online gameplay.
- Anthem’s failure in 2019 raised internal doubts about repeating mistakes.
- Pandemic disruptions and leadership resignations further complicated development.
- In 2020, the project was abruptly pivoted back to a single-player game, without proper pre-production.
- Team was given just 18 months to overhaul structure and rewrite the story.
- Tight timelines led to rushed decisions and a lack of meaningful choice in gameplay.
- Multiple delays didn’t allow redesigns “just extensions of flawed structures.”
- Feedback from alpha testing in 2022 pointed to a lack of impactful narrative decisions.
- Last-minute attempts to reintroduce meaningful choices were shallow and constrained.
- BioWare brought in a second team (from the Mass Effect project) in 2023 to help finish the game.
- Cultural clashes arose: Dragon Age team was laid-back; Mass Effect team was top-down and structured.
- Mass Effect leaders rewrote and added new scenes, including the game’s emotional finale.
- Dragon Age leads were frustrated, denied similar resources, and excluded from key meetings.
- Long-standing resentment emerged over EA favoring Mass Effect internally.
- Original multiplayer version’s snarky tone felt outdated.
- Concerns it would resemble Forspoken led to last-minute dialogue rewrites.
- Voice actor strike and overtime demands hindered these changes.
- Initial trailer looked like Fortnite, alienating the RPG fanbase.
- Marketing failed to properly convey the game’s actual tone and genre.
BioWare’s Future.
- BioWare contributes around 5% of EA’s annual revenue.
- EA primarily profits from sports and shooter games.
- Analysts say EA may continue supporting BioWare due to the potential payoff of hit RPGs.
- However, its long decline raises real questions about whether EA will ultimately shut it down.
- Analyst Doug Creutz: “If they shuttered the doors tomorrow I wouldn’t be totally surprised.”
Yeah seems like this game’s development was a disaster in every way and the blame lies at EA forcing the live service structure and then reverting it, wasting so much time and talent then not even letting them fully start over, what a mess.
for every criticism I have of DATV that I’ve voiced on here i do want to jump back into the conversation and say the game that got shipped was incredible quality considering the setbacks and the devs deserved so so much more and should still be very proud of themselves
I really feel for these kids. They’re so young and excited for the opportunity, but they don’t know what’s coming.
Some people will be sh!tting on the show because they won’t accept a reboot with new actors, some will be sh!tting because of J/K R0wlings horrific views. Either way they’ve got a storm coming and I hope the studio, their media teams, as well as their parents are prepping them for what’s to come.
Please remember that no matter how strongly you feel these are actual human children with feelings who won’t understand why you’re dragging them online and have nothing to do with the bigger issues. Give them some grace.

i'm not interested in this reboot, but i pray for the safety and protection of these kids. their lives are about to become very messy very fast, and i wish them the best of luck in the face of discrimination, adversity, and parasocial fanaticism from harry potter adults
