When Pope got injured, loads of fans pointed out how much calmer Dubravka looked on the ball and how that helped the team.

Ramsdale gives you the middle ground: way better than Pope with his feet, far better than Dubravka as a shot stopper.

Would be a very good addition. #NUFC

My thoughts on Wissa:

Of course building for the future is important, but if #NUFC want to compete right now, then we need players who can deliver immediately.

Qualifying for the CL again in 2026/27 is a must, and in order to do that, we need proven class, not just potential.

James Trafford takes #NUFC to a new level.

Unlike Pope, who often goes long by default, Trafford is calm on the ball and invites pressure to create space for others.

This alone will totally transform Newcastle's ability to retain the ball and build out from the back.

@supacol1970 Wouldn't be an issue. Just sign a starter. Stiller is top class and has a release clause, or there's Jashari at Brugges who will be desperate for a big move. Most sides have far more depth than us in this area. Joelinton will break if pushed too much again this season.

Gordon, Murphy and Barnes provide more depth for two wing positions than Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton do for the three centre mid spots. Miley isn't ready, and neither Willock nor Longstaff are good enough. Signing another top CM should be a priority.

The rules were introduced to stop the ‘Big Six’ becoming a ‘Big Eight’ or ‘Big Ten’ and make it difficult for ambitious/aspirational clubs such as Villa, Newcastle & Forest from using owner money to challenge the existing elite by creating a glass ceiling. Either have rules which have been stress tested to stop exploitation of related party transactions loopholes etc OR scrap them totally. What we have is neither and it’s a mess where creative accountants and lawyers are worth as much as players.

The big plus with Elanga is that he's super fast and Bruno's through balls into that right half space are massively underrated. He would feast.
