It’s interesting that this is the third season in a row where louis and claudia’s (and by extension regina’s) pain is shown more explicitly than anyone else’s, we see them brutalised on screen over and over again and yet lestat’s pain is somehow either romanticised or obscured
again, it’s not that, in a vacuum, louis never did anything wrong to armand, or was never selfish, or never said anything cruel. it’s that armand was actively emotionally abusing him for the majority of their relationship. he had the power. louis did not.
I'm curious to know where this interpretation of "Louis doesn't understand he's selfish/ harmed others" comes from considering the confession scene in the literal first episode and his constant victim blaming of himself the rest of s1 and 2.
i need people to understand they took OUT canon book violence he inflicted upon white people to INVENT violence to inflict on black louis. white armand was in love + obsessed with white louis in the book like it was unhealthy but he never physically tortured him this is so racist
i really dislike the disengenous “why are you surprised the vampires are bad in bad vampires show” deflection people make in response to criticism. the vampires did not sit there and write these double standards or haphazard subplots or inconsistent characterizations.
