What I was coding yesterday?
This is a first test for animation made in RIVE. I plan to use such animations in the new version of the lipsinblack website and the upcoming mobile apps built with Flutter 💙🤍
And what about performance? Well, this is where RIVE really made my jaw drop - impressive performance considering the complexity of the frame by frame animation, running as smoothly as butter without spikes. The current test animation is deliberately set to 12 frames per second using Quantize.
But how?
⚪️ Traditional frame by frame - the frame by frame animation was drawn in CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX, then exported as PNGs
💙 Super compressed WEBP assets - The PNGs were converted to compressed WEBPs to keep the file size as small as possible.
🤍 RIVE - imported in Rive, using simple animation setup with conditioned transition in the State Machine
