Navigating cross-border insolvency in Uganda, Mr. Paul Kasami of Ligomarc Advocates breaks down the #legalframeworks & practical strategies for business recovery amidst financial distress.
He noted that as businesses continue to operate in an increasingly interconnected world, insolvency practitioners, regulators, and policymakers must focus on:
→ Specialized Insolvency Education
→ Synergies among Insolvency Practitioners
→ Regulator’s visible leadership in Cross-Border (CB) protocol development
→ Harmonization of recognition frameworks
→ Cross-Border Regulations
Mr. Kasami explained that these considerations are not just theoretical they are critical to improving investor confidence, ensuring fair outcomes, and building resilient economies across borders.

"A robust insolvency regime is crucial for financial stability, especially in times of overwhelming debt.”
As Ms. Manchadi Kekana from ENSafrica @ENSlaw highlighted at #InsolConf25, judicial oversight plays a vital role in ensuring fair and transparent business rescue processes.
By balancing creditor rights and protecting stakeholder interests, we can foster #economicresilience. A well-structured system not only stabilizes the #financialsector but also bolsters investor confidence and drives growth.
