It's the difference between a farmer who must sell his crop to survive and a gardener whose greenhouse is watered by someone else's tax bill regardless of what he grows. The gardener can afford to lecture the farmer about greed... his own harvest was never at risk.

Look at any tenured department... the same professors who've never signed a payroll, never missed rent because a client walked, will confidently diagnose what's wrong with markets they've never had to survive in. It's not that market experience makes you right and academic distance makes you wrong... it's that one comes with skin in the game, and the other doesn't.
Easy to despise risk when the State has already insured you against it.
