Current account surplus of US$459mn in May 2026

Pakistan posted a current account surplus of US$459mn in May 2026 vs. current account deficit of US$276mn in Apr 2026. This takes 11MFY26 current account balance to a surplus of US$255mn, compared to a deficit of US$204mn in 10MFY26.

Current account surplus was primarily driven by record-high workers’ remittances and lower imports on MoM basis.
