I don't hate it but find it a colonial mindset. The city's guardian goddess is Mumbadevi from whom the name of the city is derived. Do they also call her Bombaydevi or Mother Bombay?

@github think about it.
I’m from Gujarat
So I grew up watching Modi ji as CM from 2001
I have seen the Gujarat of power cuts, average roads, and uncertainty…
and I have seen the Gujarat of 24x7 electricity, highways, industry, and stability
My village in Jamnagar used to get water once a week, that too by tanker
After Modi ji became CM, Narmada water reached Jamnagar & Kutch
Today, we get water twice a day
We also got CC roads in our last village with 24x7 electricity.
This is not politics for me. This is lived reality
And today, as he leads India, I’m witnessing the same transformation at a national level
Stronger infrastructure, global recognition, decisive governance
So when people like Subramanian Swamy and Madhukishwar suddenly throw filthy, baseless allegations on his personal life…
it doesn’t feel political to me, it feels personal
For 25+ years, this man has faced the harshest scrutiny from media, opposition, global pressure
Yet not one proven scandal or scam has ever stood the test of law
And now
No FIR. No case. No evidence.
Just social media noise and “sources”
We are expected to ignore lived experience and believe random allegations?
Sorry, I won’t
You can oppose his politics
You can debate his policies
But this desperate attempt at character assassination only proves one thing...
when you can’t defeat a leader’s work, you target his image
I have seen the change in Gujarat, In India
That’s reality for me 🇮🇳
Holikā dahan happens on paurNimā night. Phālguna-paurNimā began yesterday evening of 02/03/2026 at 17:05. PaurNimā ended today (03/03/2026) at 17:07. So tonight is Krishna-paksha pratipadā.
There is another rule which says when tithi begins in middle of day (like paurNimā began yesterday at 17:00 in evening), actual paurNimā is to be considered the next day when sunrise happens in that tithi (even if tithi lasts only few moments after sunrise - उदयात् तिथी). By that rule, all paurNiā related rituals that need to happen in morning or daytime are to be done today.
However today is also Chandra-grahaNa where moon rise happened while He was eclipsed. So holikā pujana/dahana was not prescribed today but yesterday.
Some schools do not consider this as a problem (also depends on the time of tithi pravesha in north, south, west and east india and to what degree was moon eclipsed. In some regions of India, moon eclipse ended before moonrise therefore no vedha and no related doshas in that region)
So if one is living in region south of Narmada in Krishna-Godavari basin, it is foolish to stick to North Indian calendar. Follow the prescriptions of the Hindu calendar prevalent in that region.
Just because one is North Indian, it is useless to stick to North Indian calendar, system and rules in west India. And vice-versa. A Marathi person living in Bengal should follow calendar prevalent in eastern india. That way the timings of tithi etc will meet properly.
Our ancestors who designed our calendars as per huge and expansive geography India were very knowledgeable people. They were not donkeys. 🙏😊

I’m always surprised by how many people still believe that the Indian media is biased, but that Western outlets somehow stand apart as neutral, objective, almost immune to influence. That assumption itself is proof of how effective modern propaganda has been.
About ten years ago, I was on a flight from London to Berlin. I happened to be seated next to an elderly woman who had that unmistakable presence of someone with authority. We started talking, the way strangers sometimes do at 30,000 feet. Turned out, she was a senior partner at a powerful PR firm, one that didn’t just handle brands, but also some Western governments.
For the next couple of hours, we spoke about global politics, economics, power. She was sharp, articulate, and refreshingly honest. As the plane began to descend, I asked her one last question
‘’What do you enjoy most about your job?”
She paused. Looked out of the window for a moment. Like she was thinking about how much to reveal. Then turned back to me with a smile
“Ninety percent of what you believe,” she said, “is what I want you to believe.”
She let it hang.
“That’s power, right?”
In that single sentence, something shifted. My confidence in how informed I thought i am, was just a result of how well her industry and the publications had done their job.
And continue to do so.
